Age and pregnancy rates in in vitro fertilization

Journal of In Vitro Fertilization and Embryo Transfer, 1991
The influence of women's age on the results of in vitro fertilization (IVF) was analyzed in 1801 women undergoing the procedure. Advancing age was found to be related to significant reduced success rates from an average of 30.1% per transfer below the age of 36 years to 15.9% per transfer at 37 years or more (P less than 0.001).

GnRHa flare and IVF pregnancy rates

International Journal of Gynecology & Obstetrics, 2003
AbstractObjectives: GnRH agonist administered early in the menstrual cycle (flare) causes an endogenous discharge of FSH and LH. Flare has been used in conjunction with gonadotropin ovarian stimulation for IVF ‘poor responders’. There is an ongoing controversy regarding whether flare protocols improve pregnancy rates in ‘poor responders’.

Strategies to Increase Pregnancy Rates

American Association of Bovine Practitioners Conference Proceedings, 1999
To achieve a timely first-service conception rate, dairymen must have an efficient method of heat detection. It is difficult to precisely control time to first service based on spontaneous expression and detection of estrous behavior on a herd basis. The most efficient way to reduce days open would be to reduce the number of missed heats and increase ...

A hypothesis on the increasing rates of ectopic pregnancy

Paediatric and Perinatal Epidemiology, 1989
Summary. Rates of ectopic pregnancy have been increasing in the developed world in recent decades. The cause of this increase is not established. There is evidence that women with ectopic pregnancies have low oestrogen levels and that tubal contractions are under oestrogenic control. Low diets and vigorous exercise both lower women's oestrogen levels.
