Acid prehydrolysis of pinus pinaster bark with dilute sulfuric acid

Wood Science and Technology, 1988
The influence of temperature (100–150°C) and acid concentration (0–5 wt%) on the prehydrolysis of pine bark and its alkaline-extracted residues was studied (the latter were obtained by vigorously stirring the bark for 15 min with a solid/liquid ratio of 1:10).

Lignin Changes during Prehydrolysis of Lignocellulosic Biomass for Cellulose Bioconversion: A Review

Biomacromolecules
The bioconversion of a lignocellulosic biomass presents significant challenges due to its complex structure. Various pretreatments have been explored to enhance biomass accessibility for efficient fractionation. Prehydrolysis, known for its environmental friendliness and promising benefits, emerges as an effective strategy.

Kinetic study of dilute-acid prehydrolysis of xylan-containing biomass

Wood Science and Technology, 1992
With the current interest in chemicals production from biomas and in view of the emerging pulping processes, the hydrolysis of lignocellulosics is being considered as a promising industrial approach. Since hemicellulose is more readily hydrolyzed than cellulose, most processes include a prehydrolysis step to remove pentosans prior to the main ...

Prehydrolysis of xylan in culm of Sasa kurilensis with dilute sulphuric acid

European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2009
To prepare a substrate for microbial conversion of xylose into xylitol, the culm of Sasa kurilensis was hydrolysed with dilute sulphuric acid. A fermentable substrate with a relatively high xylose concentration (21.9 g L−1) was obtained by hydrolysis with 2% sulphuric acid with a liquid to solid ratio of 10 : 1 at 121°C for 1 h.

Study on Preparation of Dissolving Grade Pulp and its Kinetics of Prehydrolysis

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
The possibilities of dissolving grade pulp production from reed were investigated in this paper. Two – stage prehydrolysis – kraft pulping and CEHA bleaching process of reed for preparation of dissolving grade pulp were studied in laboratory. The optimum cooking and bleaching conditions were found out.

Changes from lignin to lignin derivatives during prehydrolysis of lignocellulose

Nordic Pulp & Paper Research Journal
Abstract Lignin derivatives produced in prehydrolysis have hindered the conversion and utilization of carbohydrates. Using Masson pine, poplar, and wheat straw as raw materials, the changes from lignin to lignin derivatives during prehydrolysis were systematically studied under the conditions of hydrolysis temperature (160 °C and 180 °
