Novel Lab‐Scale System for Lyocell Fiber Manufacturing
ABSTRACT Lyocell man‐made cellulosic fibers (L‐MMCFs) are typically produced from wood sources, but sustainability efforts are driving interest in agricultural biomass feedstocks. This study presents a lab‐scale system for evaluating feedstock viability and processing conditions using a rotary evaporator, syringe pump, and microreactor vessel.

SYNTHESIS OF SPHERICAL SILICA PARTICLES WITH 3-MERCAPTOPROPYL GROUPS IN THEIR SURFACE LAYER [PDF]
Spherical silica particles were synthesized by modified Stöber method using tetraethoxysilane and 3- mercaptopropyltrimethoxysilane (MPTMS). It was shown that their size (500-760 nm) depends on the nature of the catalyst used in the prehydrolysis of ...

Non‐Canonical Amino Acids for Engineering Peptides and Proteins with new Functions
Abstract The universal genetic code, which specifies the 20 standard amino acids (AAs), forms the basis for all natural proteins. Researchers have developed efficient and robust in vivo and in vitro strategies to overcome the constraints of the genetic code to expand the repertoire of AA building blocks that can be ribosomally incorporated into ...

Conversion of WastePaper into Dissolving Pulp: A Path for Circular Bioeconomy
The potential of wastepaper to produce dissolving pulp was demonstrated in this article. By employing and optimizing chemical processes to wastepaper pulp, a noteworthy increase of 84 % in pulp Fock reactivity was achieved (from 45.6 % to 84.1 %). The pulp characteristics were followed throughout the different treatments allowing better understanding ...
