How Closely Related Are Parent and Child Reports of Child Alexithymia?

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2021
Alexithymia is a subclinical trait involving difficulty describing and identifying emotions. It is common in a number of psychiatric conditions. Alexithymia in children is sometimes measured by parent report and sometimes by child self-report, but it is ...

Visual BFI: an Exploratory Study for Image-based Personality Test

open access: yes, 2016
This paper positions and explores the topic of image-based personality test. Instead of responding to text-based questions, the subjects will be provided a set of "choose-your-favorite-image" visual questions.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Algorithmic governmentality: radicalisation and immune strategy of capitalism and neoliberalism? [PDF]

open access: yesLa Deleuziana, 2016
This article is a set of reflections on the question: ‘what is completely new in algorithmic governmentality compared to capitalism and neoliberalism?’ The following text is thus some preliminary, temporary and definitively uncertain intuitions in ...

The three philosophical problems in primitive thought

open access: yesRevista Científica Arbitrada de la Fundación MenteClara, 2020
Seeking In this article I study and analyze in a tripartite way some fundamental questions in the pre-Socratics: first, the problem of overcoming myth by logos is addressed; as a second point, the question of origin: what is the beginning of all things ...

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We show that DUF4465 family proteins, widespread across bacteria from gut microbiomes, hydrothermal vents, and soil, share a common vitamin B12‐binding function. These augmented β‐jellyroll proteins bind vitamin B12 via extended loops. Our findings establish sequence‐diverse DUF4465 proteins as a widespread class of B12‐binding proteins, highlighting ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...
