Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

ANOMALIES OF THE LEGAL STATUS OF THE INQUIRY BODIES

open access: yesПравовое государство: теория и практика, 2023
A feature of the legal status of the inquiry bodies is that they have no uniform procedural status: some have full powers (for the conduct of preliminary investigations in the form of initial inquiries, urgent investigative actions and execution of ...

Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

A Simplified Approach for the Seismic Loss Assessment of RC Buildings at Urban Scale: The Case Study of Potenza (Italy)

open access: yesBuildings, 2021
Comprehensive methodologies based on a fully probabilistic approach (i.e., the performance-based earthquake engineering approach, PBEE), represent a refined and accurate tool for the seismic performance assessment of structures. However, those procedures

‘“Grow Up!”: Rethinking the Preliminary Reference Procedure from the Perspective of Maturity’

open access: yesLSE Law Review, 2021
The clash between the German Constitutional Court and the CJEU in May 2020 over economic policy highlights the growing tension between the EU and the courts of last instance in Member States. This article argues that such tensions demand a legal order which respects national judicial hierarchies, and thereby becoming mature.

Criminal procedures, preliminary references and judicial independence: A balancing act? Case C-564/19 IS

open access: yesMaastricht Journal of European and Comparative Law, 2022
In Case C-564/19 IS, the Court of Justice of the European Union delivered a judgement on two significant issues of EU law. First, it clarified the obligations of Member States under Directive 2010/64/EU on the right to interpretation and translation in criminal proceedings regarding the provision of linguistic assistance during the criminal procedure ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

High-order half-integral conservative post-Newtonian coefficients in the redshift factor of black hole binaries

open access: yes, 2014
The post-Newtonian approximation is still the most widely used approach to obtaining explicit solutions in general relativity, especially for the relativistic two-body problem with arbitrary mass ratio.
