Limits to the Hall Effect and Other Nonreciprocal Effects in Three‐Dimensional Metamaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Comprehensive and fundamental bounds on nonreciprocal effects in three‐dimensional metamaterials are derived. They reveal that the effective Hall mobility cannot exceed the largest constituent mobility, that, under certain conditions, the Verdet constant cannot be enhanced, and that, for constituents with Hall coefficients of the same sign, the largest

THE RESULT OF THE TRANSPOSITION OF EU DIRECTIVES INTO NATIONAL LEGISLATION. THE FIRST CASE AGAINST ROMANIA REGARDING THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE RACIAL EQUALITY DIRECTIVE (2000/43/EC) AND OF THE EQUAL TREATMENT DIRECTIVE (2000/78/EC) [PDF]

open access: yesChallenges of the Knowledge Society, 2011
The purpose if this research paper is to analyze how the two directives, The Racial Equality Directive (2000/43/EC) and of The Equal Treatment Directive (2000/78/EC), were transposed into national legislation. One objective of the paper is to present and

Directing Near‐Perfect (001) Orientation in Wafer‐Scale BiOI Thin Films via Halide‐Mediated van der Waals Stacking

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Our work introduces a new framework that fundamentally changes how orientation in bismuth oxyhalide systems is approached. Comprehensive experiments, backed by theoretical models, reveal the pivotal role of halide anions to modify the van der Waals stacking energies required to direct orientation. Our method enables the fabrication of near perfect (001)

El control de la administración por la jurisdicción penal

open access: yesRevista Vasca de Administración Pública, 2019
Criminal jurisdiction is widely open to the control to Public Administration. Not only does it impose penalties on the authorities or officials, it also declares the civil liability of the Administration, and even annuls its acts.

Maritime Rule of Law: Some Preliminaries

open access: yesHague Journal on the Rule of Law, 2023
AbstractCan there be rule of law at sea? In extending the traditionally terrene ideal seaward, there are a range of conceptual difficulties. These difficulties are outlined, and a recurring thought pattern is set out that is found in the traditions of thought about the rule of law as protecting members of a community from the abuse of power. Drawing on

Robust Spin Splitting and Fermiology in the Layered Altermagnet CoNb4${\rm CoNb}_4$Se8${\rm Se}_8$

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The emergence of an altermagnetic phase is demonstrated in the cobalt‐intercalated superconducting 2H‐NbSe2 polymorph. A combined theoretical and experimental approach directly probes the magnetism, the altermagnetic lifting of Kramers degeneracy, and the electronic phase space, establishing CoNb4Se8 as the first g‐wave altermagnetic layered material ...

Synthesis of Bulk Superconducting LiNbO2 Crystals Through CaH2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
CaH2 reduction reconstructively transforms insulating LiNbO3 single crystals into superconducting bulk LiNbO2 with a critical temperature of Tc = 14.4 K. Scanning electron microscopy reveals large‐volume, high‐yield phase conversion. Magnetization measurements demonstrate a robust ∼ 77% Meissner shielding fraction, establishing bulk superconductivity ...
