Continuum Mechanics Modeling of Flexible Spring Joints in Surgical Robots
A new mechanical model of a tendon‐actuated helical extension spring joint in surgical robots is built using Cosserat rod theory. The model can implicitly handle the unknown contacts between adjacent coils and numerically predict spring shapes from straight to significantly bent under actuation forces.

Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract
We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a

An immunomodulatory hydrogel (iGEL) forms spontaneously upon subcutaneous injection, acting as a tissue‐adhesive depot. It releases anti‐rejection and regenerative agents in response to inflammation, suppressing T‐cell activity, promoting vascular repair, and restoring allograft function without systemic immunosuppression.

Finite Element Study of Vacuum Preloading and Prefabricated Vertical Drains Behavior for Soft Soil Improvement [PDF]
Finite element modeling of soft soil improvement with vacuum preloading and prefabricated vertical drains (PVD) behavior was carried out by considering smear effect and equivalent plane strain based on permeability conversion.

Bone cancer pain and depression share a common origin: astrocytic A2‐to‐A1 transition in the posterior piriform cortex. This phenotypic shift disrupts the ATP–adenosine–A2AR–norepinephrine axis, simultaneously driving nociceptive and affective dysfunction.

Discussion on Reinforcement Mechanism and Construction Technology of Pressurized Vacuum Preloading [PDF]
Based on the basic theory of vacuum preloading, this paper proposes an good effect of pressurized vacuum preloading in which the high pressure gas results in tiny cracks between the air pressurized pipe and band drain. Therefore additional drainage paths

In this research article, Mansoor and coworkers present a novel device that applies controlled mechanical stimuli to cardiomyocytes using pressure‐driven membrane deformation. By exposing cells to physiologically and pathologically relevant loading conditions, the platform reproduces distinct structural, functional and molecular responses associated ...
