Effects of oral contraceptives on ovulation induction in in vitro fertilization patients with premature ovarian insufficiency

open access: yesClimacteric, 2018
To report a case series of in vitro fertilization patients with premature ovarian insufficiency, who were treated with oral contraceptives to reduce follicle stimulating hormone levels. This was a consecutive case series in a tertiary teaching hospital in China.

The effect of gonadotropin suppression on the induction of ovulation in premature ovarian failure patients

open access: yesFertility and Sterility, 1989
Ovulation induction in patients with hypergonadotropic premature ovarian failure is rarely successful. The authors have attempted to reproduce the results of recent case reports that suggest that ovulation and pregnancy can be successfully achieved when estrogen therapy precedes or coincides with ovarian stimulation with human menopausal gonadotropins (

Premature ovulations in superovulated cattle

Theriogenology, 1987
The incidence and consequences of premature ovulations in superovulated cattle were studied. These ovulations, presumably induced by the luteinizing hormone content of the gonadotrophin preparation used, were found in 17 of 133 (13%) stimulated cows and heifers used as oocyte donors.

Premature ovulation after ovarian ultrasonography

BJOG: An International Journal of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, 1982
Summary. Whereas follicle rupture never occurred before the 37th hour after an ovulatory stimulus (either the onset of the LH surge or hCG administration) in control patients, ovulation was observed at 26 to 36 h in women submitted to ultrasonography during the late follicular phase.

Ovulation induction in women with premature ovarian failure: a prospective, crossover study

Fertility and Sterility, 1992
A prospective crossover study comparing ovulation induction techniques in eight women with premature ovarian failure is presented. These patients were treated with FSH rebound techniques using the GnRH-a, LA, alone in one treatment cycle and the same plus menopausal gonadotropins in the other treatment cycle. Two women ovulated in each group.

Preventing Premature Ovulation

Diminished Ovarian Reserve and Assisted Reproductive Technologies, 2019
After triggering the final oocyte maturation with any agent, follicles at or above 18 mm size may still collapse or ovulate before or at the time of oocyte retrieval, even when stable LH levels were assured throughout the minimal or mild stimulation in women with diminished ovarian reserve and/or advanced reproductive age. We review measures to prevent

Ovulation induction in premature ovarian failure: a placebo-controlled randomized trial combining pituitary suppression with gonadotropin stimulation

open access: yesFertility and Sterility, 1995
Objectives: To determine the effect of pituitary suppression with a GnRH agonist (GnRH-a) on the success of ovulation induction with exogenous gonadotropins in patients with premature ovarian failure (POF).

RETRACTED: Induction of ovulation in idiopathic premature ovarian failure: a randomized double-blind trial

Reproductive BioMedicine Online, 2007
In this prospective randomized study, women with idiopathic karyotypically normal premature ovarian failure (POF) were treated with gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist and gonadotrophins with and without the addition of corticosteroids in an attempt to restore ovarian function.

Premature ovarian failure: predictability of intermittent ovarian function and response to ovulation induction agents

Current Opinion in Obstetrics & Gynecology, 2008
To summarize our current knowledge about the predictability of intermittent ovarian function and the response to ovulation induction agents in patients with premature ovarian failure. In addition to clinical, histological or ultrasonographic features, a new biological marker anti-Müllerian hormone, was evaluated as a marker for ovarian reserve in ...
