Successful left coronary cusp cryoablation in an adolescent with premature ventrıcular extrasystoles-associated cardiomyopathy

open access: yesTürk Kardiyoloji Derneği Arşivi, 2020
Ventricular arrhythmias arising from coronary cusps are not uncommon. However, the mapping and ablation of outflow tract ventricular arrhythmias originating from aortic cusps can be challenging.

Microenvironmental Reprogramming by 3D Anisotropic Cardiac Extracellular Matrix Induces Nuclear Remodeling and Epigenetic Maturation of Chemically Induced Cardiomyocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 3D anisotropic hydrogel derived from heart extracellular matrix guides cytoskeletal alignment and nuclear remodeling in reprogrammed cardiomyocyte‐like cells. This study reveals how matrix alignment modulates nuclear envelope dynamics and chromatin state, triggering transcriptional and functional maturation.

Important tips reflected in our daily practice from the American College of Cardiology Electrophysiology Council report on premature ventricular contractions

open access: yesAnatolian Journal of Cardiology, 2020
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) is one of the most common situations in the current cardiology practice. Although PVCs are generally benign in people without any structural heart disease, they may be associated with left ventricular dysfunction,

Inadvertent severe hypercapnia during general anesthesia: drop-in oxygen saturation or electrocardiography changes; which one warns us earlier?

open access: yesAin Shams Journal of Anesthesiology, 2022
Background During general anesthesia especially when the nurse or anesthesiologist forgets to change manual to controlled mode after successful endotracheal intubation, capnography shows End-tidal Co2 above 20 mmHg after checking the place of the ...

Dynamic Modulation of the Microenvironment Promotes Functional Maturation of Engineered Tissues

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Engineered tissues lack the dynamic microenvironment of native tissues. A biocompatible, diffusible small molecule to dynamically modulate tissue microenvironments during maturation is used. Timing‐dependent modulation yields distinct outcomes, producing thicker, more native‐like blood vessels, stronger and more mature cardiac tissues, and optimized ...

Periodontitis and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease: A critical appraisal

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract In spite of intensive research efforts driving spectacular advances in terms of prevention and treatments, cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) remain a leading health burden, accounting for 32% of all deaths (World Health Organization. “Cardiovascular Diseases (CVDs).” WHO, February 1, 2017, https://www.who.int/news‐room/fact‐sheets/detail ...

Modifiable predictors of ventricular ectopy in the community [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Background Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) predict heart failure and death. Data regarding modifiable risk factors for PVCs are scarce. Methods and Results We studied 1424 Cardiovascular Health Study participants randomly assigned to 24-hour ...

Cmah-dystrophin deficient mdx mice display an accelerated cardiac phenotype that is improved following peptide-PMO exon skipping treatment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is caused by loss of dystrophin protein, leading to progressive muscle weakness and premature death due to respiratory and/or cardiac complications.

Conformable Microelectrode Arrays Integrated with a Scoop‐Shaped Slide‐Well for Dynamic Electrophysiological Profiling of Patient‐Derived Cardiac Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A flexible, ultrathin multi‐channel microelectrode array (MEA) conformally integrated onto a curved slide‐well enables stable electrical interfacing with 3D cardiac organoids. The geometry‐guided self‐alignment allows simultaneous recording of extracellular field potentials and contractile motion from irregular, beating tissues.

Ablation of parahisian premature ventricular extrasystoles by subtricuspid retrograde approach using inverted catheter technique: back to the anatomy

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, 2018
Key Clinical Message This report illustrates a feasible and anatomical solution aiming to improve the success and decrease the possible hazards such as atrioventricular block during ablation of parahisian PVCs. We tried to illustrate the specific anatomy
