Chd4 and ThPOK cooperate to preserve structural and electrophysiological integrity of the adult heart through Sprr1a repression

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Chd4/NuRD and ThPOK cooperate to maintain transcriptional repression and nuclear organization in adult cardiomyocytes. Chd4 loss reduces miR‐150‐5p, relieving repression of Sprr1a, while ThPOK loss further enhances Sprr1a activation, possibly through altered chromatin–lamina interactions.

Zero‐Contrast Versus Contrast‐Guided Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion: A Comparative Analysis of Procedural and Long‐Term Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
Zero‐contrast left atrial appendage occlusion yielded high procedural success and similar periprocedural adverse event rates compared to the contrast‐guided approach. At 45‐day follow‐up, successful LAA closure (defined as peri‐device leak ≤ 5 mm) and device‐related thrombus rates were similar.

Prevalence and Recovery of Arrhythmia‐Induced Cardiomyopathy in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Heart Failure Using a Wearable Defibrillator: A Real‐World Cohort Study

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This graphical abstract summarizes the study design and main findings in patients with newly diagnosed left ventricular systolic dysfunction and concomitant arrhythmia undergoing early rhythm control under wearable cardioverter‐defibrillator protection.

Comparison of Spatio‐Temporal Dispersion Electrogram Ablation and Low Voltage Zone Ablation in Patients With Persistent Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
This study compared STDE‐guided versus LVZ‐guided ablation beyond PVI in 107 persistent AF patients. At 24 months, the AF‐free survival rate was significantly higher in the STDE group (76.3% vs. 58.4%, p=0.027). STDE ablation independently reduced recurrence risk (HR: 0.29, p=0.004), providing superior clinical efficacy over LVZ ablation.

PVC Variability and Impact on Meeting Expert Consensus Cutoffs of ≥ 10 000 PVCs/Day and ≥ 15% PVCs

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
14‐day Zio® (iRhythm) datasets of 606 patients between December 2018 and January 2019 who had at least one day of ≥10,000 PVCs were acquired. Of these patients, a subcohort of 325 patients who had at least one day of ≥15% PVCs was generated. In both groups, analyses were carried out showing that longer duration monitoring increased sensitivity for ...

Long‐Term Serial Exercise Stress Testing in Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia on Beta‐Blocker and Flecainide Therapy

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) is a potentially life‐threatening arrhythmic disorder typically treated with beta‐blockers and, occasionally, with flecainide. Methods All patients underwent genetic testing, electrocardiogram, echocardiogram, and exercise testing.

Premature ventricular contractions in normal children.

open access: yesThe Turkish journal of pediatrics, 2008
Premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are frequently seen in children with normal cardiac findings. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the characteristics and the prognosis of PVCs in children with normal heart. This study included 149 children with PVC who did not have systemic or cardiac disease. Their median age at diagnosis was 10 years (

Giants in the cold: Morphological evidence for vascular heat retention in the viscera but not the skeletal muscle of the basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Fewer than 50 of the over 30,000 extant species of fishes have developed anatomical specializations facilitating endothermy in specific body regions. The plankton‐feeding basking shark (Cetorhinus maximus), traditionally classified as an ectotherm, was recently shown to have regionally endothermic traits such as centralized red muscle (RM ...

Multi-Class Arrhythmia Detection from PPG Signals Based on VGG-BiLSTM Hybrid Deep Learning Model

open access: yesBiosensors
Arrhythmia is a common and potentially life-threatening cardiovascular condition. Photoplethysmography (PPG) has emerged as a noninvasive alternative to electrocardiography for cardiac rhythm monitoring, yet most PPG-based methods remain limited to ...
