Flame‐Assisted Modification of Glass Wettability: Preliminary Results
ABSTRACT Fog formation and moisture condensation limit the performance of glass surfaces in optical, microfluidic, and sensing applications, where stable transparency under humid conditions is essential. Enhancing surface wettability represents an effective strategy to mitigate these effects; therefore, the development of methods to tailor glass ...

Sequential blending improved the mechancial properties of PHB/PBAT/cellulose composites as compared to the one‐step batch mixing method. ABSTRACT Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) is a natural and biodegradable polymer generated by bacteria. While its applications to potentially replace petroleum‐based plastics are severely limited due to its brittleness and ...

Effects of heat release on triple flames [PDF]
Heat release effects on laminar flame propagation in partially premixed flows are studied. Data for analysis are obtained from direct numerical simulations of a laminar mixing layer with a uniformly approaching velocity field.

This study shows that incorporating 5–10 wt.% Posidonia oceanica, with or without micro‐talc, in PBSA preserves thermal stability, modifying crystallization behavior, and maintains good filler dispersion and interfacial adhesion. Mechanical properties are moderately stiffened.

Combustion analysis by image processing of premixed flames [PDF]
We describe a three-step algorithm for the analysis of color images of flames, with the objective of analyzing the combustion process and its control parameters indirectly. The algorithm first extracts the interesting regions, applying a clustering method in the RGB color space, identifying and eliminating irrelevant regions and applying morphological ...

The presented study focuses on the fracture behaviour of carbon‐bonded magnesia MgO–C refractories, where environmentally friendly fructose, collagen and lignin serve as temporary binding agents. The partial substitution of the source material with recycled MgO–C reduces the fracture resistance, which can be counteracted by the additional introduction ...
