PDF modeling and simulation of premixed turbulent combustion

Monte Carlo Methods and Applications, 2008
The Probability Density Method (PDF) is applied to turbulent combustion simulations, with several chemical reactions. The novelty is the use of PDF in premixed combustion simulations, dealing with the difficulty of thin reaction zones introducing additional scales much smaller than the common scales of turbulent motion.

Turbulent combustion in a premixed flow

Acta Astronautica, 1977
Abstract The understanding and the prediction of the phenomena involved in turbulent combustion appear as complicated problems if quantitative calculations in practical cases are required. A new calculation method for premixed turbulent flames is proposed here, based on the expected shape of the probability density function of the temperature or ...

Turbulence effects on accelerating turbulent premixed combustion

Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2004
A detailed research on correlation analyses of turbulent characteristic parameters against turbulent combustion is made for methane / air charges in a combustion bomb, under the moderate turbulence conditions ( u u′ / S L = 0.5-4.5).
