Autotransplantation of premolars

International Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, 1998
The purpose of this clinical follow-up study was to evaluate the success rate of autotransplantation of human premolars. In the period between 1982 and 1994, 46 premolars in 31 patients were transplanted. A long-term success rate of 97.5% with a mean follow-up period of 3.5 years was achieved.

Premolar root and canal variation in extant non-human hominoidea.

American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 2015
OBJECTIVES The premolar sub-cervical region in four non-human extant ape genera are examined to: 1) define a classification scheme for the premolar root system in order to rigorously characterize, quantify and document variation in root and canal, form ...

Anomalous mandibular premolars: a mandibular first premolar with three roots and a mandibular second premolar with a C‐shaped canal system

International Endodontic Journal, 2008
AbstractAim  To describe unusual variations in the root morphology and root canal systems of mandibular first and second premolar teeth extracted for orthodontic reasons.Summary  Normally mandibular first and second premolar teeth have single roots with single canals. A 15‐year‐old patient presented for orthodontic treatment and two mandibular premolar

Root length in transplanted premolars

Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 2004
The objectives of the present prospective longitudinal study were to establish the survival and success rates for premolars with partly developed roots transplanted according to a set protocol, and to analyze the effect of varying pre-surgery root development on final root length.

Polymerization shrinkage stresses in a premolar restored with different composite resins and different incremental techniques.

Journal of Adhesive Dentistry, 2013
PURPOSE To investigate how the incremental filling technique, elastic modulus, and post-gel shrinkage of different dental composite resins affect residual shrinkage stress in a restored premolar.

Premolar root morphology and metric variation in Pan troglodytes verus.

American Journal of Physical Anthropology, 2013
Premolar root form remains an important taxonomic character in hominin alpha taxonomy. Variation in detailed aspects of root structure remains poorly characterized in extant apes.

Endodontic treatment of a taurodontic premolar with five canals.

Australian Endodontic Journal, 2013
Taurodontism is a morpho-anatomical abnormality in the shape of a tooth. An enlarged pulp chamber, apical displacement of the pulpal floor and no constriction at the level of the cemento-enamel junction are the characteristic features.

Fused supernumerary mandibular premolar

Journal of Dentistry, 1974
Abstract Fusion of two supernumerary teeth in the mandibular right premolar region is reported in a 22-year-old male in whom bilateral supernumerary premolar teeth were incidentally discovered on X-rays taken for conservative dental care.

Intentional Replantation Of A Lower Premolar

Australian Endodontic Journal, 2004
Intentional replantation is the purposeful extraction of a tooth to perform extraoral endodontic treatment, curettage of apical soft tissue when present and the replacement of the tooth in its socket. This paper demonstrates the use of intentional replantation as a technique to successfully treat a case where conventional endodontic retreatment and ...
