The Ratio Molars/Premolars in Perissodactyls
Nature, 1953IN the course of a study of the European Hipparion1, it was found that the ratio of the length of the molar series to the length of the premolar series (M/P) is fairly constant within that genus. It ranges from 76.7 to 91 (M/P × 100) in thirty-eight specimens of upper tooth-rows from Pikermi and Salonica, most values falling between 80 and 89.

‘Molarization’ of the mandibular second premolars
Journal of Dentistry, 1976Abstract Further examples are reported of an anomaly of the mandibular second premolar which may best be described by the term ‘molarization’. The aetiology of the condition is discussed, and attention is drawn to the clinical significance of the fact that these anomalous premolars may mimic the first deciduous molar in the morphology of the crown ...

Molarization of the premolars in the Perissodactyla.
Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London, 1952SUMMARY. Molarization of the premolars in perissodactyls is reviewed in the light of that of the milk‐molars. The premolar patterns are closely related to those of the milk‐molars, the closest resemblance being shown, in most forms, to the milk‐molar that the premolar replaces. In a few Eocene forms, however, the premolars seem rather to resemble milk‐

Bilateral mandibular supernumerary premolars
Oral Surgery, Oral Medicine, Oral Pathology, 1968Abstract An unusual case of four mandibular supernumerary premolars, bilaterally paired, in a 14-year-old Negro girl is reported. Clinical examination revealed three normal-appearing premolars in the left mandible. Roentgenograms disclosed an additional unerupted supernumerary premolar on the left side as well as two unerupted supernumerary premolars
