Prenatal biochemical screening.
The Journal of reproductive medicine, 1992Most fetal abnormalities occur in low-risk pregnancies. Screening techniques have been developed to help determine who in the low-risk group may actually be at high risk. Biochemical screening for chromosomal abnormalities and neutral tube defects have significantly increased their detection, but there is still considerable room for improvement.
