Conditional extensions of fuzzy preorders [PDF]
[EN]The problem of embedding incomplete into complete relations has been an important topic of research in the context of crisp relations and their applications. Several variations of the acclaimed Szpilrajn's theorem have been provided, inclusive of the case when some order conditions between elements are imposed on the extension.

The partially pre-ordered set of compactifications of Cp(X, Y)
In the set of compactifications of X we consider the partial pre-order defined by (W, h) ≤X (Z, g) if there is a continuous function f : Z ⇢ W, such that (f ∘ g)(x) = h(x) for every x ∈ X. Two elements (W, h) and (Z, g) of K(X) are equivalent, (W, h) ≡X (

Abstract Standard decision theory ranks risky prospects by their expected utility. This ranking does not change if the values of all possible outcomes are uniformly shifted or dilated. Similarly, if the values of the outcomes are negated, the ranking of prospects by their expected utility is reversed.

Shellular materials form spontaneously by dip coating the primitive triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) wireframe in an aqueous solution of lyotropic liquid crystalline graphene oxide (GO) nanosheets mixed with polymers. Regulated by surface tension, GO nanosheets align on the polymer soap film as the stress builds up during drying.

Weak incidence algebra and maximal ring of quotients
Let X, X′ be two locally finite, preordered sets and let R be any indecomposable commutative ring. The incidence algebra I(X,R), in a sense, represents X, because of the well-known result that if the rings I(X,R) and I(X′,R) are isomorphic, then X and X′

Induced Spirals in Polyethylene Terephthalate Films Irradiated with Ar Ions with an Energy of 70 MeV
This paper presents the results of a study of the ordering in polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film induced by Ar8+ ions with an irradiation fluence of 2 × 1012 ions/cm2, and of the temporal stability of the induced ordering in the irradiated sample ...

An Ultrapotent, Ultraeconomical, Antifreeze Polypeptide
Simple and inexpensive polypeptides composed of random copolymers of alanine and glutamic acid are effective antifreezes for applications in foods and biomedicine. The polypeptides, inspired by natural extremophile proteins, inhibit the growth of large ice crystals and prevent damage to sensitive biologics.
