Semiparametric Estimation of Proportional Mean Residual Life Model in Presence of Censoring
Biometrics, 2005SummaryA mean residual life function is the average remaining life of a surviving subject, as it varies with time. The proportional mean residual life model was proposed byOakes and Dasu(1990,Biometrika77,409–410) in regression analysis to study its association with related covariates in absence of censoring.

In this article, we consider the mean residual life regression model in the presence of covariate measurement errors. In the whole cohort, the surrogate variable of the error‐prone covariate is available for each subject, while the instrumental variable (IV), which is related to the underlying true covariates, is measured only for some subjects, the ...

Reduction in mean residual life in the presence of a constant competing risk
Applied Stochastic Models in Business and Industry, 2007AbstractThe addition of a constant ‘competing risk’ corresponding to an additional, usually less significant, source of failure, frequently improves the fit in reliability and survival analysis. This is often termed a ‘lift’, as the effect is to increase the hazard rate (HR) function by a constant, which does not, of course, change the shape and hence ...

The present study explored the structure and correlates of meaning in life (MIL) among an Israeli sample. The sample consisted of 559 adults. The average age of participants was 48.24 and 61.3% of them were females. Participants provided demographic information and completed measures of MIL, satisfaction with life, and depressive symptoms.

Do Attachment Styles Affect the Presence and Search for Meaning in Life?
Journal of Happiness Studies, 2013The current work examines the connection between attachment theory and meaning in life (MIL) across adulthood, by inspecting attachment style differences on two dimensions of MIL: presence of meaning (PML) and search for meaning (SML). MIL and attachment measures were collected from 992 participants of three age-groups, young adults (21–30 ...

Sources of Meaning and the Presence of Meaning in Life for Narcissists
The aim of this project is to explore what people who score high on narcissism find meaningful. In previous studies I have shown that narcissists derive Meaning in Life (MIL) from conspicuous consumption. In this study I will expand the search of areas in which narcissists derive MIL.Berry, Natalie, Hart, Claire

The Role of Shared Future Selves and Self-Continuity in Promoting the Presence of Meaning in Life
Academy of Management Proceedings, 2020Modern work life is increasingly lacking in structure, which poses challenges to workers’ ability to maintain a sense of meaning in life (MIL).

Objective: Bolstering resilience may protect against adverse health outcomes. Literature has established a positive link between mindfulness and resilience, though potential underlying mechanisms are still being identified. Evidence suggests increased mindfulness enhances meaning in life, and meaning in life is positively associated with resilience. We

Positive Psychology Interventions (PPIs) targeting increased awareness of sources of meaning in life can enhance wellbeing. While such PPIs have largely utilised written reflections on meaning, a small body of research suggests potential benefits of photography-based reflection.
