Tunable Thermoshrinkable Hydrogels for 4D Fabrication of Cell‐Seeded Channels
A thermoresponsive polymer with methacrylate groups for photo‐cross‐linking, based on polyethylene glycol, N‐isopropylacrylamide, and 2‐hydroxyethyl acrylate is synthetized to yield hydrogels that shrink upon temperature increase. The new polymer enables the fabrication of cell‐laden perfusable channels with diameters below 200 µm by combining ...

Introduction: Heart failure is a major public health problem worldwide. Since heart failure with reduced ejection fraction and preserved ejection fraction are different clinical entities, in-hospital mortality may occur at different rates.

Minimal residual disease (MRD) leads to cancer relapse and poor survival in ovarian cancer. The lack of representative 3D models limits therapy development. The microfluidics‐based high throughput 3D microtumor platform described here generates clinically‐relevant MRD models. The 3D microtumors recapitulate the molecular signatures of MRD from patients.

Background Although potential therapeutic candidates for heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) are emerging, it is still unclear whether they will be effective in patients with left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) of 60% or higher ...

The properties of dynamically ejected runaway and hyper-runaway stars [PDF]
Runaway stars are stars observed to have large peculiar velocities. Two mechanisms are thought to contribute to the ejection of runaway stars, both involve binarity (or higher multiplicity). In the binary supernova scenario a runaway star receives its velocity when its binary massive companion explodes as a supernova (SN).

ACC/AHA Versus ESC Guidelines on Heart Failure:JACC Guideline Comparison [PDF]
The 2013 (with updates in 2016 and 2017) American College of Cardiology/American Heart Association and 2016 European Society of Cardiology guidelines provide practical evidence-based clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of both acute and ...

Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction in primary care [PDF]
Background Heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) is a condition associated with low quality of life, high morbidity and mortality. It constitutes a diagnostic challenge and there is little evidence of effective treatments.

Efflux‐mediated resistance compromises antibiotic efficacy, yet rapid detection remains elusive. This study presents a novel phenazinium‐based diagnostic molecule for quantifying bacterial efflux levels in Gram‐positive pathogens. The optimized compound enables precise, real‐time efflux assessment using fluorescence and colorimetric techniques ...
