Advanced Science, EarlyView.Ubiquilin (UBQLN), like many other human proteins, contains both well‐folded and disordered regions. Here, we show that intramolecular interactions between disordered regions and folded domains modulate between open and closed topologies of UBQLN proteins, altering their structure and function.
