Frequency modulation Fourier transform spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters 32, 15 (2007) 2206-2208, 2007
A new method, FM-FTS, combining Frequency Modulation heterodyne laser spectroscopy and Fourier Transform Spectroscopy is presented. It provides simultaneous sensitive measurement of absorption and dispersion profiles with broadband spectral coverage capabilities.

BULK AND SURFACE NANOSTRUCTURING OF TITANIUM BASED ALLOYS [PDF]

open access: yesФизико-химические аспекты изучения кластеров, наноструктур и наноматериалов, 2014
The paper is a brief review of structure refinement deformation methods for bulk samples of titanium alloys with different nature. Typical microstructures of alloys in nanostructured and ultrafine-grained state are demonstrated.

Understanding Data Better with Bayesian and Global Statistical Methods [PDF]

open access: yesin "Unsolved Problems in Astrophysics", Proceedings of Conference in Honor of John Bahcall, J.P. Ostriker, ed. (Princeton: Princeton University Press, 1996 [in press]), 1996
To understand their data better, astronomers need to use statistical tools that are more advanced than traditional ``freshman lab'' statistics. As an illustration, the problem of combining apparently incompatible measurements of a quantity is presented from both the traditional, and a more sophisticated Bayesian, perspective.

Effect of shaping method on the densification of SnO2 ceramic pieces

open access: yesRevista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia, 2014
Tin oxide, SnO2, has a big technological importance. For its uses it is of great interest to optimize the sintering conditions to obtain an adequate densification, microstructure and mechanical properties, depending on the technological application.

Uniquely Pressable Graphs: Characterization, Enumeration, and Recognition [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
We consider "pressing sequences", a certain kind of transformation of graphs with loops into empty graphs, motivated by an application in phylogenetics. In particular, we address the question of when a graph has precisely one such pressing sequence, thus answering an question from Cooper and Davis (2015).
