We develop a data‐driven method to derive the mathematical expressions of the Flory–Huggins interaction parameter χ for the swelling behavior of temperature–responsive hydrogels. Starting from initial assumptions of χ, our workflow combines Bayesian optimization, Flory–Rehner theory, and symbolic regression to generate candidate χ expressions.

Non-linear finite element analyses of the aortic heart valve [PDF]
Includes bibliographical references.Finite element models of the aortic heart valve have been successfully used in the past to gain insight into the mechanics of the valve and to aid in understanding of valve failure.

Application of Solenoid Valves for Tram Hydraulic Braking Force Control
[Objective] The control solenoid valves in the hydraulic braking system of trams mainly include proportional pressure reducing valve and high-speed switching valve. Due to the structural characteristics, the former is poor in pollution resistance and has

Research on Maneuverability Optimization of Negative Control Excavator
In order to improve the swing braking stability and flow distribution characteristics of negative control excavator, this paper proposes a hybrid electro-hydraulic main valve, which sets a pressure reducing valve in each of the two control chambers of ...

Solvate ionic liquids lubrication reduced the coefficient of friction by ∼60% compared to dry sliding, reaching steady‐state values as low as 0.04–0.05. Corrosion weight‐loss measurements in 1 M HCl further demonstrated significant inhibition behavior, with only 100 ppm of [Li(G3)][TFSI] (∼68.5 μL/L) reducing corrosion‐product weight loss by 63 ...

Development of a Novel High Pressure Electronic Pneumatic Pressure Reducing Valve [PDF]
Pressure reducing valve (PRV) is one of the critical components in high pressure pneumatic systems. Nowadays, manually operated PRVs have been widely used, but there is still no universal electronic PRV. Thus, we proposed a novel high pressure electronic

Geometrical modifications on nitrocellulose membranes can result in observable differences in signal intensity relative to a reference membrane (top and bottom left). Using two reference experiments, we have developed a theoretical model that can reproduce the experimentally observed flow changes and provide information on membrane parameters, e.g ...

A Valve Design Methodology For Improved Reciprocating Compressor Performance [PDF]
The current work directly relates valve dynamics to the compressor energy efficiency. Majority of the previous studies have focused on reducing pressure losses due to valve geometry, towards improved compressor performance.

Flow Field Simulation and Coupled Stress Field Calculation of the Natural Gas Distribution Valve
The pressure reducing valve with complicated structure is prone to having the issues of uncoordinated deformation and severe stress concentration under working pressure conditions, leading to issues like valve body failure, reduced service life and gas ...
