A dynamic equation for the pressure-sinkage relationship in saturated clay soils

Journal of Terramechanics, 1985
Abstract Experiments showed that the plate pressure-sinkage relationship in a saturated clay soil was strongly dependent on deformation rate. An equation for the pressure-sinkage relationship incorporating deformation rate was developed, using visco-plastic theory, and was found to describe the measured data well.

On the characterization of the pressure-sinkage relationship of snow covers containing an ice layer

Journal of Terramechanics, 1983
Abstract Based on an analysis performed by Meyerhof and on field data obtained in two snow covers, a method for estimating the bearing capacity of an ice layer in a snow cover is proposed. A procedure for characterizing the pressure-sinkage relationship of a snow cover containing an ice layer is suggested.

Study on the Relationships of Pressure-Sinkage and Shear Stress-Displacement of the Desert Sand Under Moving Vehicle

SAE Technical Paper Series, 2002
<div class="htmlview paragraph">Tests are conducted in a soil bin for studying the interaction between vehicle and terrain to investigate the relationships of pressure-sinkage and shear stress-displacement of the desert sand. Bekker's formulae and Janosi's formulae are first used to describe the relationships of pressure-sinkage and shear stress ...
