The effect of dynamic wetting pressure on contact angle measurements
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2022The drop deposition technique can impact contact angle measurements. We hypothesized that the drop pinch-off, during the traditionally used pendant drop technique, significantly alters the static contact angle. The capillary waves and dynamic wetting pressure generated during the pendant drop deposition are the source for forced spreading, which can be

Relationships among systemic blood pressure, intraocular pressure, and open-angle glaucoma
Canadian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2008Several vascular factors, including systemic hypertension (or high blood pressure [HBP]), ocular perfusion pressure, and nocturnal hypotension, have been identified as risk factors for the development and progression of glaucoma. The results of epidemiologic studies of these factors and their relationships to intraocular pressure (IOP) and open-angle ...

Abstract This paper discusses some properties of the limit values of pressure angle (called LVPA) and the position of maximal pressure angle (called PMPA) of the spatial RSSR linkage. Several theorems and their corollaries have been obtained. Some results obtained by Soylemez and Freudenstein are further discussed here.

Pressure Dependence of the Contact Angle
The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2007When a liquid and its vapor contact a smooth, homogeneous surface, Gibbsian thermodynamics indicates that the contact angle depends on the pressure at the three-phase line of an isothermal system. When a recently proposed adsorption isotherm for a solid-vapor interface is combined with the equilibrium conditions and the system is assumed to be in a ...
