Contact Angle and Film Pressure: Study of a Talc Surface

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2002
Talc samples in both sheet and powder form are studied by adsorption calorimetry and adsorption isotherm techniques. A model is used to determine the solid surface energy, the solid surface tension and the dispersive, acidic, and basic components of these terms.

Operating air pressure of disposable angles.

Journal of dental hygiene : JDH, 2000
This study was conducted to determine if air pressure of 20 pounds per square inch (psi) was sufficient to operate disposable prophylaxis angles smoothly and efficiently without stalling.Five specimens of 15 types of disposable angles were evaluated by four dental hygienists to determine the minimum speed required for smooth operation.

Design of Radial Cams With Zero Pressure Angle

13th Design Automation Conference: Volume 2 — Robotics, Mechanisms, and Machine Systems, 1987
Abstract The addition of an intermediate roller between the cam and the follower roller is proposed in this paper. The function of this intermediate roller is to reduce the pressure angle on the follower to zero. As a result of adding the proposed intermediate roller, all problems caused by the pressure angle in cam mechanisms are ...

Stress and intraocular pressure in open angle glaucoma

Psychology & Health, 1997
Abstract Elevation of intraocular pressure (IOP) in primary open angle glaucoma is hypothesized to be influenced by stress-induced activation. However, empirical support for this assumption so far is only small, and the amount of stress effects has not yet been determined as compared to other known factors that influence 10P-levels.

High Pressure Small-Angle X-Ray Scattering

2015
Small-angle scattering, solution scattering from proteins in solution, reflects the shape of the scatter as a spread of electron density, which is common to protein crystallography. Although the obtained resolution of small-angle scattering is inferior to that of crystallography, it shows the global image of protein structure in solution without ...

On the Calculation of the Contribution to the Pressure of Angle-Dependent Potentials

Molecular Simulation, 1995
Abstract This short paper clarifies the situation regarding the calculation of the contribution of angle-dependent potentials to the pressure. By comparing two derivations of the forces originating from an angle-bending potential on a system of three atoms joined by flexible or rigid bonds it is demonstrated that in practice it is not correct to assume
