Single‐Step Recovery of Water from Stable Crude Oil‐Water Emulsion Using Surface Engineered Hybrid Inorganic‐Polymer Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Atomic layer deposition is used to conformally surface engineer polymeric membranes to fabricate inorganic–organic hybrid membranes. These membranes have exceptionally strong attraction toward water even in high oil containing emulsions, which leads to an extremely strong hydration layer at the interface.

Performance Enhancement of Tin Chloride‐Incorporated Ferroelectric Polymer‐Based Artificial Synapse for Hardware Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper proposes a highly efficient ferroelectric artificial synapse device based on an oxide semiconductor and SnCl2‐inserted P(VDF‐TrFE) gate dielectric layer. This FeFET significantly improved the synaptic performance due to the ion‐dipole interaction.

Fusogenic RNA Nanomodules for Fusion‐Mediated and Multiplexed siRNA Delivery

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A fusogenic lipid‐layered RNA nanomodules (L‐CRAMs) enable high‐capacity and long‐lasting siRNA delivery through membrane fusion. These nanomodules carry exceptionally large siRNA payloads, avoid conventional endosomal uptake, and release multiple functional siRNAs through Dicer‐mediated processing.

Determining the pressure drop of cemented Gobi sand and tailings paste backfill in a pipe flow

Construction and Building Materials, 2020
The pressure drop in pipes is a crucial parameter for the design of mine backfill. The friction factor correlations used to predict the pressure drop have not been validated for mine backfill.

Enhancement of pollutants hydrocyclone separation by adjusting back pressure ratio and pressure drop ratio

Separation and Purification Technology, 2020
To solve the long-term restrictions on the development of hydrocyclones (i.e., underflow diameter is difficult to flexibly and stably control, and underflow orifice and pipe are easy to be blocked), in 2017, researchers enhanced the hydrocyclone ...

Estimation of Pressure Drop of Two-Phase Flow in Horizontal Long Pipes Using Artificial Neural Networks

, 2020
Gas–liquid two-phase flows through long pipelines are one of the most common cases found in chemical, oil, and gas industries. In contrast to the gas/Newtonian liquid systems, the pressure drop has rarely been investigated for two-phase gas/non ...

Prediction of the pressure drop for CuO/(Ethylene glycol-water) nanofluid flows in the car radiator by means of Artificial Neural Networks analysis integrated with genetic algorithm

, 2020
In this investigation, neural networks were used to predict pressure drop of CuO-based nanofluid in a car radiator. For this purpose, the neural network with the multilayer perceptron structure was used to formulate a model for estimating the pressure ...

Numerical studies on ejector structure optimization and performance prediction based on a novel pressure drop model for proton exchange membrane fuel cell anode

, 2020
The performance of hydrogen ejectors can be affected by the working conditions of the fuel cell system especially associating with the working pressure and pressure drop of the anode.
