Pressure drop in liquid chromatography

Journal of Separation Science, 2018
AbstractMeasurement of pressure drop is routinely performed during chromatographic runs. In many cases this information is only used for regulation of mobile phase flow rate to keep pressure drop below defined limit. However, pressure drop can provide additional important information about performance of chromatographic process.

Pressure Drops in Cannulas for Hemodialysis

The International Journal of Artificial Organs, 2001
Pressure drops in cannulas for hemodialysis have been measured in vitro in both flow directions for five different viscosities and up to 600 mL/min flow. Cannula dimensions were 15, 16 and 17 gauge and 15, 20 and 25 mm nominal length. The measurements were taken at room temperature with glycerin solutions as test fluid.

Excess Pressure Drops in Entrance Flows

Journal of Rheology, 1982
New results are presented for the excess pressure drop in the entrance flow of inelastic materials. These predictions demonstrate how shear thinning effects promote higher pressure losses in the entrance geometry. A flow reversibility result, identical to the slow flow reversibility principle for Newtonian materials, is established for the creeping ...

Dynamic model of airway pressure drop

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1998
A multipath model of the mechanical behaviour of healthy lungs subject to a plethysmographic test (close to quiet breathing conditions) has been developed, which includes the main physiological nonlinearities. This model is built on a symmetric branching scheme based on Weibel's data, and uses non-linear fluid equations for the upper and lower airways.

Pressure Drop Studies

2016
Though two phase flow offers advantage of dissipating high heat flux at reduced mass flow rate while maintaining constant coolant temperature, a problem of higher pressure drop compared to the single phase flow is accompanied in two phase flow. Hence this issue needs to be resolved in order to develop an economically viable heat sinks.
