Heat transfer, pressure drop and fouling studies of multi-walled carbon nanotube nano-fluids inside a plate heat exchanger

open access: yes, 2016
This work presents the results of an experimental research on the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT), aqueous nano-fluids inside a plate heat exchanger (PHE), with the consideration of fouling ...

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

Recurrent Hypothermia and Autonomic Dysfunction Secondary to Shapiro Syndrome

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A 44‐year‐old man presented with recurrent hypothermia, diaphoresis and hypertension. Extensive investigation for infectious, inflammatory, metabolic and endocrine aetiologies was negative. MR scan of the brain demonstrated no lesions but revealed callosal dysgenesis, consistent with Shapiro syndrome.

Long‐Term Efficacy of Immunotherapy in Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy—A 10‐Year Follow Up Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Autoimmune autonomic ganglionopathy (AAG) is a rare but potentially treatable cause of severe autonomic failure. Evidence guiding long‐term immunotherapy, treatment sequencing, and residual autonomic impairment is limited. We evaluated long‐term treatment response, residual autonomic dysfunction, and relapse patterns in patients with

Friction pressure drop model of gas-liquid two-phase flow in an inclined pipe with high gas and liquid velocities

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2019
The calculations of friction pressure drop is the most complicated in multiphase flow. Understanding of the friction pressure drop in pipes are of great importance for many industry problems. The existing friction pressure drop models are generally based

Evaluation of Digital Technologies for Home‐Based Assessment in People With Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Digital technologies hold promise for transforming healthcare by enhancing personalized treatments and offer valuable opportunities to improve patient care. Here, we evaluated several novel, self‐administered, home‐based, digital endpoints for their association with corresponding conventional standard clinical measures (primary) in ...

The effect of felt compression on the performance and pressure drop of all-vanadium redox flow batteries

open access: yes, 2016
The compression of carbon felt electrodes for redox flow batteries leads to changes in the electrochemical performance and has a large effect on the pressure drop of electrolyte flow through the system.

Subclinical Optic Nerve Involvement in Radiologically Isolated Syndrome: Multimodal Detection and Diagnostic Impact

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives We aimed to determine the frequency of subclinical optic nerve (ON) lesions using MRI, optical coherence tomography (OCT), and visual evoked potentials (VEP) in radiologically isolated syndrome (RIS), and to assess their diagnostic and prognostic significance.

Experimental Investigation on Particle Deposition and Pressure Drop Characteristics of Slit Fin-and-tube Heat Exchanger

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2016
The air-side pressure drop of fin-and-tube heat exchangers will increase when covered with dust particles. In this paper, a visual experimental rig was set up to investigate the particle deposition and pressure drop characteristics. The slit fin-and-tube
