Measuring Surface Pressure with Far Field Acoustics
15th AIAA/CEAS Aeroacoustics Conference (30th AIAA Aeroacoustics Conference), 2009This paper introduces a new method for measuring the spectral character of wall pressure fluctuations under turbulent boundary layers by measuring the sound that they radiate in the presence of hydrodynamically smooth sinusoidal ridges in the surface. The theoretical basis for the method and experimental tests demonstrating its viability are described.

Intraocular pressure alterations after visual field testing
Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2014To determine whether intraocular pressure (IOP) is significantly altered after visual field (VF) testing in eyes with open-angle glaucoma (OAG).A prospective clinical trial of 106 OAG patients who had not had any previous surgical interventions. IOP was measured with a non-contact tonometer and refractive error with an auto refractometer.

Pressure calculation in hybrid particle-field simulations
The Journal of Chemical Physics, 2010In the framework of a recently developed scheme for a hybrid particle-field simulation techniques where self-consistent field (SCF) theory and particle models (molecular dynamics) are combined [J. Chem. Phys. 130, 214106 (2009)], we developed a general formulation for the calculation of instantaneous pressure and stress tensor.

Quantized-field approach to pressure-induced resonances
Physical Review A, 1989Using a fully quantized dressed-atom approach, we present a theory and interpretation of the pressure-induced resonances in four-wave mixing (PIER4) that may arise when three incident fields interact with an ensemble of two-level atoms. The PIER4 resonances are seen to arise from a collisionally created modulation of a dressed-state population when an ...

Construction Of Surface Pressure Field From Scatterometer Wind Field
12th Canadian Symposium on Remote Sensing Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium,, 2005An account of the construction of surface pressure fields from Seasat-A satellite scatterometer (SASS) winds as carried out by different methods, and the comparison of these pressure fields with those derived from in situ ship observations is presented.

Nonlinear Pressure Oscillations in a Combustion Field
ARS Journal, 1960M practical importance has been attached to the problem of high frequency combustion instability, in particular, the unstable pressure oscillations which may affect the performance of a rocket motor. A thorough mathematical treatment of the linearized aspects of this problem has been given by Crocco and Cheng (1-3). Basing their theory on the sensitive

A radial propagator for axisymmetric pressure fields
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2011The concept of a propagator is central to the angular spectrum formulation of diffraction theory, which expresses the pressure field diffracted by a two-dimensional aperture as a superposition of a continuum of plane waves. In the conventional form, an exponential term, known as a propagator, is multiplied by the wavenumber spectrum obtained from a two-

FREE-FIELD PRESSURES, STATION ZERO
1955Abstract : Free-field pressures as a function of time were measured at eight positions above the Wigwam weapon at distances from the charge varying from 800 to 1975 ft. Tourmaline PE gauges were used. Signals were either telemetered to a remote receiving location or were recorded in place on a magnetic-tape recorder that was recovered after the shot ...
