Fluctuations of the Casimir pressure at finite temperature
Physical Review D, 1995We consider special topics related to the Casimir effect [1]. We extend the considerations of the fluctuations of the Casimir pressure [2], [3] to finite temperature [4]. In the unphysical high-temperature limit the Green’s functions become more singular.

Similarity scaling of pressure fluctuation in turbulence
Physical Review E, 2003Pressure fluctuation was measured in a turbulent jet using a condenser microphone and piezoresistive transducer. The power-law exponent and proportional constant of normalized pressure spectrum are discussed from the standpoint of Kolmogorov universal scaling.

The response of railway passengers to pressure fluctuations
Applied Ergonomics, 1986This paper describes a study carried out on behalf of Deutsche Bundesbahn (West German Railways) by British Rail in collaboration with the Institute of Consumer Ergonomics. The aim was to evaluate subjective responses to predicted pressure fluctuations that are likely to occur in vehicles that will run on a new railway line under construction.

The intense vibration accompanying the extension of dive brakes and other high-drag devices on aircraft and missiles has been observed for many years. Recently, considerable vibration has been experienced at the fundamental longitudinal mode and at other internal resonance frequencies of a vehicle which had a blunt base during the maximum dynamic ...

Air Pressure Fluctuations in a Prairie Soil
Soil Science Society of America Journal, 1998Abstract The influence of air convection on soil aeration has not been investigated in great detail. A study was conducted to measure air pressure changes by depth in the first 2 m of a prairie soil that was known for its denitrification properties.

Effect of amplitude fluctuations on radiation pressure
Physical Review A, 1985The effect of amplitude fluctuations of a radiation field on the motion of a two-level atom is calculated. The results are compared with a similar calculation of Cook for the effect of phase fluctuations on such motion.

Fluctuating Pressures on Mildly Indented Nosetips
Journal of Spacecraft and Rockets, 1978Fluctuating pressure measurements at M = 5.0 are presented for turned (axisymmetric) nose shapes that represent approximations of cross sections (at various meridians) of the recovered graphite nosetip of the Nosetip Recovery Vehicle (NRV). Selected fluctuating pressure measurements are also presented for a replica of the NRV nosetip and a replica of a
