The evolution of pressure gain in turbulent fast flames
Combustion and Flame, 2021Abstract This research quantifies the evolution of pressure for fast burning regimes characterized by various degrees of compressibility and involving turbulent flames and shocks. The experimental exploration is conducted in a Turbulent Shock Tube facility, where the level of flame compressibility is controlled by varying the equivalence ratio of the

Gain spectrum of a high‐pressure CO2laser
Applied Physics Letters, 1975The gain spectrum of a high-pressure uv preionized CO2 laser was measured for pressures to 14 atm. The data show an ∼10% increase in the gain of the P branch of the 961-cm−1 (00°1) - (10°0)1 band which is attributed to the overlapping 927-cm−1 0111- (1110)1 band.

Autoignition in stratified mixtures for pressure gain combustion
Proceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2021The reliable generation of quasi-homogeneous autoignition inside a combustor fed by a continuous air flow would represent a milestone in realizing pressure gain combustion in gas turbines. In this work, the ignition distribution inside a stratified fuel–air mixture is analyzed. The ability of precise and reproducible injection of a desired fuel profile
