A Cavity-Pressure Method for Measuring the Gain of Hearing Aids [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1947
A cavity-pressure method for measuring the gain of hearing aids has been developed. It has the advantage of requiring no dead room, allowing a compact set-up. The method has been investigated as to its validity and the degree to which diffraction effects are avoided. Comparisons with free-field data are made.

Middle-ear pressure gain and cochlear partition differential pressure in chinchilla [PDF]

open access: yesHearing Research, 2010
An important step to describe the effects of inner-ear impedance and pathologies on middle- and inner-ear mechanics is to quantify middle- and inner-ear function in the normal ear. We present middle-ear pressure gain G(MEP) and trans-cochlear-partition differential sound pressure DeltaP(CP) in chinchilla from 100 Hz to 30 kHz derived from measurements ...

Muscle strength adaptation between high-load resistance training versus low-load blood flow restriction training with different cuff pressure characteristics: a systematic review and meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2023
Purpose: In this systematic review and meta-analysis, blood flow restriction (BFR) with low-load resistance training (BFR-RT) was compared with high-load resistance training (HL-RT) on muscle strength in healthy adults.

Effect of 12 Weeks Walking On Weight Gain and Blood Pressure of Overweight Pregnant Women [PDF]

open access: yesMajallah-i Zanān, Māmā̓ī va Nāzā̓ī-i Īrān, 2020
Introduction: Along with lifestyle changes, weight gain in pregnant women is increasing, which can lead to the problems such as high blood pressure, preterm delivery, cesarean section, and even maternal and child death.

The Test of the Price Pressure Effects due to the Capital Raising Plans [PDF]

open access: yesراهبرد مدیریت مالی, 2016
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of capital gain plans on return cumulative and buy (sell) pressure on the days around assembly. In this study, capital gain means shareholders benefit from receivables financing (stock rights) and ...

An alternative architecture of the Humphrey cycle and the effect of fuel type on its efficiency

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering, 2020
Conventional gas turbines are a very mature technology, and performance improvements are becoming increasingly difficult and costly to achieve. Pressure‐gain combustion (PGC) has emerged as a promising technology in this respect, due to the higher ...

Sound Pressure Level Gain in an Acoustic Metamaterial Cavity [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2014
The inherent attenuation of a homogeneous viscous medium limits radiation propagation, thereby restricting the use of many high-frequency acoustic devices to only short-range applications. Here, we design and experimentally demonstrate an acoustic metamaterial localization cavity which is used for sound pressure level (SPL) gain using double coiled up ...
