Theoretical prediction of pressure loss in pressurized plastic containers

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1973
AbstractRelations describing the time dependence of pressure loss in pressurized plastic containers are presented and discussed. These relations are expected to be useful in predicting the shelf life performance of pressurized plastic containers in applications such as aerosol and carbonated beverage containers.

Evaluation of Jet-Bit Pressure Losses

SPE Drilling Engineering, 1989
Summary An experimental and theoretical study was conducted to resolve discrepancies between observed and calculated pressure losses for fluids flowing through the nozzles of jet bits. The use of a nozzle discharge coefficient of 0.95, which is commonly used for roller-cone bits, results in the calculated pressure drop being up to 30 ...

Pressure losses in pneumatic transport

1982
A model is derived to calculate the pressure losses originating from the dilute phase pneumatic transport of coarse particles in the horizontal stationary flow regime. The model is based on the balance of drag forces and frictional forces acting on the particles during pneumatic transport.

Pressure losses in deluge sprinkler fittings

Fire Technology, 1966
The author discusses some tests, the results of which suggest that conventional techniques for designing deluge sprinkler systems could be improved. When compared to the equivalent pipe length method of determining friction losses in fittings, the results of the tests seem to offer a more accurate means for calculating those losses.
