Distribution Features of Flow Patterns and Pressure Pulsations of Pump-Turbine in Five Operating Modes on the Four-Quadrant Plane

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research, 2022
To meet the demand of the power grid for flexible regulation, pump turbines have to frequently and fleetly stop, start, and transition between different modes, causing many instability problems.

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Vibration analysis of large bulb tubular pump house under pressure pulsations

open access: yesWater Science and Engineering, 2009
A 3D finite element model of the Huaiyin third pumping station of the Eastern Route of the South-to-North Water Transfer is described in this paper. Two methods were used in the calculation and vibration analysis of the pumping station in both the time ...

Mud pump pressure pulsation control systems

open access: yes, 2023
Drilling fluid is circulated through the well-bore during drilling operations to transport cuttings from the bottom of the hole to the surface. Hydrostatic high-pressure mud pumps are typically used for this purpose. Triplex pumps, which comprise three pistons mechanically displaced by 120 degrees, are the most common type of mud pump.

Hands‐on protocol for preparing water‐soluble fractions from agri‐food samples for NMR‐based metabolomics analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This research protocol outlines a workflow for nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR)‐based metabolomics in the agri‐food sector. Using two case studies—strawberry leaves (solid matrix) and wine (liquid matrix)—it details the procedures for sample preparation, data acquisition, and processing.

A light‐triggered Time‐Resolved X‐ray Solution Scattering (TR‐XSS) workflow with application to protein conformational dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Passive pressure pulsation damping using shaped nozzles [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Letters of Rzeszow University of Technology - Mechanics, 2014
Pressure pulsations in intake and outlet systems of positive-displacement compressors are one of the most important problems in compressed gas pipelines. This problem occurs not only in huge compressed systems, such as the natural gas piping in gas mines or national gas transport systems, but also in small refrigeration compressors in domestic ...

Prediction of Myasthenia Gravis Worsening: A Machine Learning Algorithm Using Wearables and Patient‐Reported Measures

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a rare disorder characterized by fluctuating muscle weakness with potential life‐threatening crises. Timely interventions may be delayed by limited access to care and fragmented documentation. Our objective was to develop predictive algorithms for MG deterioration using multimodal telemedicine data ...

Reduced Muscular Carnosine in Proximal Myotonic Myopathy—A Pilot 1H‐MRS Study

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Myotonic dystrophy type 2 (proximal myotonic myopathy, PROMM) is a progressive multisystem disorder with muscular symptoms (proximal weakness, pain, myotonia) and systemic manifestations such as diabetes mellitus, cataracts, and cardiac arrhythmias.
