Influence of hydraulic parameter uncertainty on valve-closure water hammer in gravity-driven long-distance water delivery systems

open access: yesGuan'gai paishui xuebao
【Objective】Long-distance gravity-driven water delivery systems are widely used in water transfer and irrigation projects. However, in transient flow calculations, key physical parameters, such as valve characteristics, pipeline roughness, pipeline length,

Enhancing Biogenic Formic Acid Production in the Modified OxFA Process by Acetonitrile Addition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this study, the beneficial effect of using acetonitrile as a co‐solvent in the modified OxFA process is shown, outperforming methanol, demonstrating improved reaction kinetics combined with high selectivity for the HPA‐2 (H5PV2Mo10O40) catalyzed oxidation of xylose to FA.

Sulfated Cyclocarya Paliurus Polysaccharide Sorchestrates the Gut Microbiome to Mobilize a Host‐Derived 12‐HEPE Against Ulcerative Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A sulfated polysaccharide (SCP) from Cyclocarya paliurus alleviates ulcerative colitis by reshaping the gut microbiome. This remodeled microbiota orchestrates the upregulation of the host‐derived lipid 12‐HEPE, which directly inhibits the TLR4/NF‐κB pathway to suppress inflammation.

Outstanding TC Enhancement in 5d–3d Y2NiIrO6 by Compression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Double perovskite Y2NiIrO6 with half filed 3d eg–5d t2g configuration, exhibits first experimental example of pressure‐enhanced magnetic interaction in iridate and iridate‐related systems. Its Curie temperature increase from 192 to 243 K at 17 GPa. Herein, the orthogonal eg–t2g pathway remains robust even under compression‐induced lattice distortion ...

Bias‐Engineered Synthetic Antiferromagnets Hosting Sub‐20 nm Zero‐Field Skyrmions at Room Temperature

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A fully compensated synthetic antiferromagnet (SAF) multilayer exhibits a uniform state at zero field, without skyrmions. We use a SAF bias system to provide RKKY‐mediated exchange bias to the SAF multilayer, promoting zero‐field skyrmion stabilization and polarity control.

Chiral‐Induced Spin Selectivity Effect in a 1 nm Thin 1,1′‐Binaphthyl‐2,2′‐diyl Hydrogenphosphate Self‐Assembled Monolayer on Nickel Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A self‐assembled monolayer (≈0.9 nm) of an axially chiral binaphthol phosphoric acid derivative on a ferromagnetic Ni/NiOx substrate shows chiral‐induced spin selectivity (CISS) magnetoresistance of 50%–80%. This thermally and chemically robust functional stack shows the way towards practical spintronic devices based on the CISS effect.

Static and dynamic characteristics of a pressure reducing valve

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
Abstract A pressure reducing valve is a hydraulic element placed in a pipeline to keep the downstream pressure constant. It is able to fulfil its task within certain limits and can change the pressure drop at a specific speed when flow conditions change.
