Thermal-stimulated pressure and current studies of bound water in lysozyme

open access: yesBiophysical Journal, 1977
The state of bound water in crystalized lysozyme was studied by four techniques: electret thermal depolarization currents, thermal-stimulated pressure, isothermal polization decay, and thermogravimetry. Hydration levels ranged from 0 to 40 mg water/g protein.

Massive Pressure Amplification by Stimulated Contraction of Mesoporous Frameworks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Negative Gas Adsorption (NGA), discovered in a series of mesoporous switchable MOFs, was hitherto regarded as a curios phenomenon occurring only at pressures well below or close to atmospheric merit.

Thermoactivational spectroscopy of polyethylene polymer films with an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer

open access: yesPhysics of Complex Systems, 2023
The article reports the results of the study of polymer films based on the blend of high-pressure polyethylene (LDPE) and the ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA, sevilen). The films were investigated with thermally stimulated depolarization.

Characteristics of Pressure Stimulated Current and Damage Evolution of Granite under Progressive Uniaxial Loading

open access: yesSustainability, 2023
The application of load on rock materials stimulates a weak current known as Pressure Stimulated Current (PSC). This study focuses on investigating the damage evolution of granite rocks through the analysis of PSC responses. Uniaxial loading experiments were conducted on granite samples, and the accompanying PSC was measured in real-time.

Transcranial direct current stimulation modulates autonomic nervous system and reduces ambulatory blood pressure in hypertensives

open access: yesClinical and Experimental Hypertension, 2021
Purpose: Transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) seems to positively modulate the autonomic nervous system in different clinical conditions and healthy subjects; however, its effects on hypertensive (HTN) patients are not completely known. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of a tDCS or SHAM session (20 min) on blood pressure (BP) and ...
