Magnetic Field‐Modulated Boolean Logic in Proteinoid‐ Fe3 O4 Hybrid Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
Proteinoid‐Fe3O4${\rm Fe}_3{\rm O}_4$. nanoparticle composites exhibit spontaneous electrical oscillations that emulate Boolean logic gates (AND, OR, XOR, NAND, NOR, NOT) under magnetic field modulation. External fields of 65.103 mT tune oscillatory behavior: 84 mT enhances amplitude while 103 mT suppresses it.

Extraction of Green Hydrogen at Fuel Cell Quality from Mixtures with Natural Gas

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2016
A hybrid process based on membrane and pressure swing adsorption for the extraction of green hydrogen from mixtures with natural gas at fuel cell quality is presented. The gas is supplied by the natural gas grid at high pressures (up to 60 bar).

Improved H_2 Storage in Zeolitic Imidazolate Frameworks Using Li^+, Na^+, and K^+ Dopants, with an Emphasis on Delivery H_2 Uptake [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We use grand canonical Monte Carlo simulations with first principles based force fields to show that alkali metal (Li^+, Na^+, and K^+)-doped zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs) lead to significant improvement of H_2 uptake at room temperature.

Advances in Systems Engineering of Carbon Dioxide Electroreduction

open access: yesCarbon and Hydrogen, EarlyView.
Industrializing CO2 electroreduction hinges on holistic systemic synergy and optimization of all process segments rather than isolated catalytic breakthroughs; Process simulation is a core enabler to build a complete capture–conversion–product industrial chain, positioning CO2RR as a key technology for carbon neutrality.

MCM-41, MOF and UiO-67/MCM-41 adsorbents for pre-combustion CO2 capture by PSA: adsorption equilibria [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Three different adsorbent materials, which are promising for pre-combustion CO2 capture by a PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) process, are synthesized, pelletized and characterized.

Biomass‐Coupled HER System: A Strategy for Sustainable and Low‐Cost Hydrogen Production

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Pine wood is carbonized into a hierarchically porous biochar anode that undergoes carbon oxidation reaction, replacing the oxygen evolution reaction in alkaline water electrolysis. The resulting biomass‐coupled HER system converts water into hydrogen at low cell voltages, enabling low‐cost H2 production from renewable carbon resources. ABSTRACT Biomass‐

Fast and Selective Separation of Carbon Dioxide from Dilute Streams by Pressure Swing Adsorption using Solid Ionic Liquids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The need to create a new approach to carbon capture processes that are economically viable has led to the design and synthesis of sorbents that selectively capture carbon dioxide by physisorption.

On the Role of Linker Fluorination in the Adsorption‐Induced Structural Response of CeIV‐Based Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The effect of the degree of fluorination of the organic linker on the adsorption behavior of MIL‐140A(Ce) is systematically investigated with a combination of experimental techniques. Cooperative adsorption is switched off in less fluorinated frameworks, as a result of reduced steric hindrance around the adsorption sites.

Research Progress of Pressure Swing Adsorption CO2 Capture Technology and Case Analysis of Its Application in Petrochemical Industry

open access: yes南方能源建设
[Introduction] As an important carbon capture method in CCUS, pressure swing adsorption (PSA) CO2 capture technology has been widely used. However, the excessive capture energy consumption and operation cost restrict the promotion and implementation of ...

Low‐Temperature Initiation Enhances HCN and NH3 Formation From Methane and NO Over Pt/Al2O3

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Hydrogen cyanide (HCN) was formed from CH4 and NO over Pt/Al2O3 at low temperatures. Increasing NO concentration and optimizing reaction‐start conditions significantly enhanced HCN yield. In situ FTIR and DXAFS measurements revealed that dynamically balancing Pt‑CO and Pt‑CN surface species, particularly their desorption under temperature‑swing ...
