Slope Discontinuities in Pressure Vessels
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1970A closed-form solution is obtained for the problem of a shell of revolution with a meridional slope discontinuity, which might occur at a weld seam in a pressure vessel. The effect of significant variation in the slope occurring within the usual “edge zone” and the nonlinear pressurization effect are taken into consideration.

Blast Pressure Analysis of a Pressure Vessel
Advanced Materials Research, 2011The sensitivity of blast pressure of a pressure vessel to the material strength, the effective welding depth and the relative radius is studied by finite element simulations and single-factor sensitivity analyses. And the sensitivity coefficients are obtained by normalization procession. Furthermore, a three-factor regression model is obtained by multi-

Analysis of Composite Pressure Vessels
2008Composite pressure vessels have found unique place in industrial, commercial, research and defence applications due to their higher efficiency and good resistance under hard working conditions. The composite gas cylinder is about 70% lighter than steel and about 30 to 50 percent lighter than aluminium lined tanks.

Abstract The equation of thin-walled pressure vessel heads with constant maximum shear stress throughout is derived. Such heads, used on cylindrical vessels with uniform internal pressure, were first conceived by Biezeno in 1922 who gave a semigraphical prescription for determining the head shape.

THE DESIGN OF PRESSURE VESSELS FOR EXTREME PRESSURES
1956Abstract : The problem of supporting extreme pressures in some kind of vessel is made difficult by the fact that materials with which the vessels might be constructed have very limited tensile strengths. This means that thick sections under tension must be used.

Pressure Vessels, Glass Vessels and Glass-lined Vessels
2014Pressure vessels are very important process equipment. Their typical applications include the manufacture of ammonia, liquid sulphur trioxide (by boiling of oleums), nitrogen and oxygen (cryogenic, PSA and membrane processes), processing of petroleum, Glass vessels/glass lined vessels are used for preventing contamination of products; for observing ...
