Simultaneous determination of wave speed and arrival time of reflected waves using the pressure-velocity loop

open access: yes, 2007
This is the post print version of the article. The official published version can be found at the link below. In a previous paper we demonstrated that the linear portion of the pressure–velocity loop (PU-loop) corresponding to early systole could be used ...

Wave separation in the trumpet under playing conditions and comparison with time domain finite difference simulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Wave separation within a trumpet is presented using three high pressure microphones to measure pressure waves within the curved, constant cross-section tuning slide of the instrument while the instrument was being played by a virtuoso trumpet player.

Nonlinear Wave Equation for Ultrasound Beam in Nonuniform Bubbly Liquids

open access: yesJournal of Fluid Science and Technology, 2011
In our previous paper (Kanagawa et al., J. Fluid Sci. Tech., 5, 2010), we have proposed a systematic method for derivation of various types of nonlinear wave equations for plane waves in bubbly liquids.

Determination of wave intensity in flexible tubes using measured diameter and velocity

open access: yes, 2007
Wave intensity (WI) is a hemodynamics index, which is the product of changes in pressure and velocity across the wave-front. Wave Intensity Analysis, which is a time domain technique allows for the separation of running waves into their forward and ...

High Pressure Hugoniot Measurements in Solids Using Mach Reflections [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Shock compression experiments provide access to high pressures in a laboratory setting. Matter at extreme pressures is often studied by utilizing a well controlled planar impact between two flat plates to generate a one dimensional shock wave.

The Wireless Communication Method of Water Injector Based on String Pressure Wave

open access: yesShiyou jixie, 2021
At present, the testing and regulation of water injectors is of heavy workload and long cycle. To solve this problem, this paper developed a wireless communication method of water injector based on string pressure wave.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Train Braking Time Variations Changing the Pressurized Air Temperature

open access: yesFluids, 2021
Braking time in a moving train at standard speeds has become a critical variable that increasingly concerns the industry. The present paper discusses the possible option of temperature variation to cut down the response time of the whole pneumatic ...

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.
