Time-dependent stability analysis of open-pit slope considering life-cycle

open access: yes矿业科学学报, 2021
Based on the influence of excavation and creep degradation on the stability of high slopes in open-pit, a stability model of slopes in life-cycle is proposed.

Coupling Effect of Creep Deformation and Prestress Loss of Anchored Jointed Rock

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2020
To explore the variation behaviour of anchor jointed rock subject to high in situ stress states, a coupling effect calculation model based on stress equality was established based on the original rheological model of rock by combining element combination

Research on Prediction Model of Prestress Loss of Anchor Cable in Soil-Rock Dual-Structure Slope

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
The establishment of the prestressed cable loss prediction model is a difficult problem faced by the popularization and use. This article aims at the problem of the loss of anchor cable prestress over time in the soil-rock dual-structure slope. We relied

Study on damage-stress loss coupling model of rock and prestressed anchor cable in dry-wet environment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mining Science and Technology, 2023
The loss of anchoring force is one of the problems to be solved urgently. The anchorage loss is a key factor causing the failure of anchoring engineering, so it is crucial to study the time-dependent variation of anchoring force. Alternating dry and wet (

Snap-through behaviour of a bistable structure based on viscoelastically generated prestress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A novel form of shape-changing bistable structure has been successfully developed through the use of viscoelastically generated prestress. Bistability is achieved through pairs of deflecting viscoelastically prestressed polymeric matrix composite (VPPMC)

Effect of wetting/drying cycling on flexural behavior of RC beams strengthened by prestressed CFRP plate: Experimental and analytical investigations

open access: yesCase Studies in Construction Materials, 2023
Using prestressed carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRPs) is a promising technique for strengthening reinforced concrete (RC) structures. This study aimed to investigate the prestress losses and flexural behavior of strengthened RC beams under wetting ...

Dynamic one-sided out-of-plane behavior of unreinforced-masonry wall restrained by elasto-plastic tie-rods [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Past earthquakes have shown the high vulnerability of existing masonry buildings, particularly to out-of-plane local collapse mechanisms. Such mechanisms can be prevented if façades are restrained by tie rods improving the connections to perpendiculars ...

State-of-the-Art Review on Determining Prestress Losses in Prestressed Concrete Girders [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
Prestressing methods were used to realize long-span bridges in the last few decades. For their predictive maintenance, devices and dynamic nondestructive procedures for identifying prestress losses were mainly developed since serviceability and safety of Prestressed Concrete (PC) girders depend on the effective state of prestressing.

Prestress Force Monitoring and Quantification of Precast Segmental Beams through Neutral Axis Location Identification

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
This paper proposes using neutral axis locations to monitor and quantify the prestress force in post-tensioned precast segmental beams. Strain measurements are used to obtain the neutral axis locations of specific cross-sections of the precast ...

Probabilistic Assessment of Prestress Loss in Pretensioned Prestressed Concrete [PDF]

open access: yesPCI Journal, 1995
The effects of variability in the parameters used to calculate prestress loss are evaluated by a probabilistic prestress loss computer program. The program accounts for the time-dependent effects caused by creep, shrinkage, and steel relaxation. Losses caused by elastic shortening of the prestressed concrete member are also calculated.
