Bridge Prestress Losses in Dry Climate
Journal of Bridge Engineering, 1998A posttensioned, simply supported, box-girder bridge in southern Nevada was instrumented during construction beginning in June 1992. The study was triggered by concerns over the potential adverse effects of low relative humidity on prestress losses. The research examines the effects of including mild reinforcing steel in the bottom flange of precast concrete girder and the alternative prestressing pattern on the prestressing losses of pretensioned bridge girders.
