Maternal exercise improves vascular function in hypertensive offspring via A‐kinase anchoring protein 150 gene (Akap5) epigenetic modifications

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Background and Purpose Regular physical activity is an effective non‐pharmacological approach to hypertension management and maternal exercise improves offspring cardiovascular health, although mechanisms remain unclear. A‐kinase anchoring protein 150 (AKAP150) targets protein kinase Cα to L‐type Ca2+ channels (CaV1.2), enhancing vascular tone in ...

Mechanical Evaluation of Suture Docking Method Versus Novel Tensegrity Suture Screw in Treating Varus Posterolateral Surrogate and Cadaveric Elbow Instability

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Three‐point bending tests in foam and cadaveric elbows consistently showed superior performance of novel TEN elbow screws in restoring elbow instability in contrast to CON docking method. TEN increased mechanical strength, enhanced suture‐screw‐bone fixation via appropriate junctional loading, and technical ease for suture tensioning.

Mid‐Term Tibial Tunnel Enlargement and Graft Maturation After ACL Reconstruction: A 5‐Year Follow‐Up Linking Morphological Dynamics to Knee Function

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Tibial tunnel diameter increased within 2 years after single‐bundle ACL reconstruction, then slightly decreased by 5 years but remained above baseline. Moderate site‐specific correlations were observed between tunnel enlargement at the tibial tunnel exit, graft maturation at 2 years, and anterior stability at 5 years without long‐term functional ...

A Hyporeflective Response to the Absurd

open access: yesRatio, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT If life is absurd in that we cannot help but desire the unattainable, then there is prima facie reason to lament the absurd whenever we are confronted with it. This is an intuitive idea: it is fitting to be disappointed by what is essentially disappointing.
