The topological version of free entropy [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2002
Notions of topological free entropy and of free capacity are introduced in the $C^*$-algebra context. Basic properties, basic problems and connections to potential theory and random matrix theory are discussed.

Relative Cuntz-Krieger algebras of finitely aligned higher-rank graphs [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2003
We define the relative Cuntz-Krieger algebras associated to finitely aligned higher-rank graphs. We prove versions of the gauge-invariant uniqueness theorem and the Cuntz-Krieger uniqueness theorem for relative Cuntz-Krieger algebras.

Graph-Based Models for Kirchberg Algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
We give a construction of Kirchberg algebras from graphs. By using product graphs in the construction we are able to provide models for general (UCT) Kirchberg algebras while maintaining the explicit generators and relations of the underlying graphs.

The Cuntz semigroup as an invariant for C*-algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2007
A category is described to which the Cuntz semigroup belongs and as a functor into which it preserves inductive limits.

Simplicity of finitely-aligned k-graph C*-algebras [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2008
It is shown that no local periodicity is equivalent to the aperiodicity condition for arbitrary finitely-aligned k-graphs. This allows us to conclude that C*(\Lambda) is simple if and only if \Lambda is cofinal and has no local periodicity.

On Fell bundles over inverse semigroups and their left regular representations [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
We prove a version of Wordingham's theorem for left regular representations in the setting of Fell bundles of inverse semigroups and use this result to discuss the various associated cross sectional C*-algebras.

Centered Takagi--van der Waerden functions and their Lipschitz derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Using a modification of a generalized Takagi-van der Waerden function on a metric space we prove that for any closed subset of a metric space without isolated points there exists a continuous function such that its big and local Lipschitz derivatives are equal to infinity exactly on this set.
