CLINICAL TYPES OF PRIMARY ANGLE CLOSURE GLAUCOMA

Australian and New Zealand Journal of Ophthalmology, 1988
AbstractThere is no internationally adopted terminology for the clinical types of primary angle‐closure glaucoma. Descriptions of three clinical types: 1. intermittent angle closure; 2. acute and subacute angle closure; and 3. creeping angle closure are presented with reasons for the division into and naming of these types. Chronic angle closure is not

Primary Angle-Closure Glaucoma

Archives of Ophthalmology, 1970
The corticosteroid responsiveness of intraocular pressure was determined in 15 primary angleclosure glaucoma patients. None of them responded to the topical administration of 0.1% betamethasone ophthalmic solution with a rise in pressure greater than 6 mm Hg.

Gonioscopy in primary angle closure glaucoma

Seminars in Ophthalmology, 2002
Primary angle closure is a condition characterized by obstruction to aqueous humor outflow by the peripheral iris, and results in changes in the iridocorneal angle that are visible through gonioscopic examination. Gonioscopy in these eyes, however, can be difficult. This chapter discusses techniques that might help in the examination.

Phacotrabeculectomy in Treatment of Primary Angle-closure Glaucoma and Primary Open-angle Glaucoma

Japanese Journal of Ophthalmology, 2004
To evaluate the surgical outcome of combined phacoemulsification, posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation, and trabeculectomy (phacotrabeculectomy) in patients with primary angle-closure glaucoma (PACG) or primary open-angle glaucoma (POAG).The records of 57 consecutive patients (65 eyes) with PACG or POAG that were treated with ...

The Endothelium in Primary Angle-Closure Glaucoma

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1984
Specular microscopy of 56 eyes with primary angle-closure glaucoma showed a significant (P less than .05) loss of endothelial cells in eyes when any of the following were present: visual field loss; a cup-disk ratio greater than 0.5; a previous acute attack of angle closure; and surgery in addition to peripheral iridectomy.
