Trauma to the primary dentition.
Journal - Oklahoma Dental Association, 2007The guiding principle in managing trauma to the primary dentition is potential sequelae to the permanent tooth. If the risk to the permanent tooth is great, the primary tooth should be removed. If esthetics are a concern to the parent, a number of appliances can be fabricated to temporarily manage this issue.

The Journal of pedodontics, 1990A total of 69 traumatized maxillary primary incisors were followed to determine the sequelae of trauma. At initial presentation, discoloration was the most common presenting sign of trauma (30.4%), followed by crown fractures (21.8%) and displacement of the teeth (15.9%).
