Access to community-based eye services in Meru, Kenya: a cross-sectional equity analysis

open access: yesInternational Journal for Equity in Health
Background Over 80% of blindness in Kenya is due to curable or preventable causes and 7.5 m Kenyans currently need eye services. Embedding sociodemographic data collection into screening programmes could help identify the groups facing systematic ...

Building the eye care team

open access: yes, 2014
Eye care services are people intensive. They require the right people (competence), in the right numbers (capacity), in the right mix (team) with the right resources and processes (enabling conditions) to ensure effective and sustainable delivery of ...

Transparent Perovskite Light‐Emitting Diodes with Conductive Oxide Top Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transparent perovskite light‐emitting diodes (TrPeLEDs) enable simultaneous display and transparency, expanding application possibilities. Using a metal oxide buffer layer and pulsed laser deposition, TrPeLEDs with diverse compositions and architectures are demonstrated.

Correlated Charge Transport in an Organic Coulomb Glass

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Advances in the development of organic field‐effect transistors (OFETs), electrically gated organic semiconductors (EGOFETs), and organic electrochemical transistors (OECTs) allow for the operation of these devices at very high charge‐carrier densities, where Coulomb interactions between carriers can be expected to become significant.

Evaluating the access and utilization of eyecare services after the adoption of eyecare PBF and its financial sustainability: the case of Rwanda

open access: yesBMC Health Services Research
Introduction Sustainable improvements in eye care outcomes has been a concern for policy makers in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). We examined the changes in access and utilization of eye care service at primary care level and explored ...

Implementing Diabetic Eye Care in Rural Primary Care Through Teleophthalmology and Pop-Up Clinics: Mixed Methods Study

open access: yesJMIR Diabetes
BackgroundDiabetic retinopathy is the leading cause of blindness in US adults. Fewer than half of patients with diabetes in rural areas complete the recommended screening that could prevent blindness. Store-and-forward teleophthalmology and mobile pop-up

Neuromorphic Electronics for Intelligence Everywhere: Emerging Devices, Flexible Platforms, and Scalable System Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The perspective presents an integrated view of neuromorphic technologies, from device physics to real‐time applicability, while highlighting the necessity of full‐stack co‐optimization. By outlining practical hardware‐level strategies to exploit device behavior and mitigate non‐idealities, it shows pathways for building efficient, scalable, and ...

Resistance to Overdoping Allows Over 2000 S cm−1 Conductivity in P(g3BTTT) With Anion‐Exchange Doping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Anion‐exchange doping of conjugated polymers is an effective way to achieve high conductivities. Here, we report over 2000 S cm−1 electrical conductivity for doped P(g3BTTT). In addition, we show that P(g3BTTT) sustains exceptionally high doping levels without any drop in the charge mobility.
