Effect of Subconjunctival Bevacizumab on Primary Pterygium
Cornea, 2009To investigate the effect of subconjunctival bevacizumab on primary pterygium.A patient with an inflamed nasal primary pterygium, refractory to artificial tears and naphazoline, was enrolled in this study. After pretreatment with topical proparacaine and moxifloxacin, 0.05 mL of bevacizumab (1.25 mg/0.05 mL) was injected subconjunctivally at the limbus.

Sliding Conjunctival Flap for the Treatment of Primary Pterygium
Ophthalmology, 1994The major problems after pterygium removal are recurrence and complications of the therapy. The authors investigated a simple surgical treatment without adjunctive therapy for primary pterygium.Patients eligible to be included in the study were identified from a pterygium treatment log.

Merest Sclera Technique for Primary Pterygium Surgery
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1989ABSTRACT Over a 5-year period, 800 patients with primary pterygium underwent "merest sclera" surgery, a procedure in which the injured limbo-conjunctival area is covered completely with superior and inferior conjunctiva) flaps so that the tear film can be reestablished. After a 1-year follow-up, 17 recurrences were found (2.1%).
