Primary and Secondary Resonance of Micro-resonators Based on Couple Stress Theory

Iranian Journal of Science and Technology, Transactions of Mechanical Engineering, 2018
In this work, the influence of size effect on the primary and the secondary resonance of micro-resonators is investigated. The micro-resonator, which is considered in this study, is a clamped–clamped beam excited by AC and DC electrostatic voltage. The DC voltage is applied to prevent doubling of excitation frequency and tune the range of system’s ...

Primary Resonance of Circuit-Spring System with Internal Resonance and Inductance Nonlinearity

2010 International Conference on Measuring Technology and Mechatronics Automation, 2010
Nonlinear phenomena are observed in coupled RLC (Resistance-Inductance-Capacitance) circuit and spring system; a new mathematical model is presented to adapt advanced research. Its dynamic equation considering inductance nonlinearity and harmonic excitation is established by Lagrange-Maxwell equation.

Quenching of a primary resonance by a combination resonance of the additive or difference type

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1984
Abstract An investigation is presented of the interaction of primary resonances and combination resonances of the additive and difference types in single-degree-of-freedom systems with quadratic and cubic non-linearities. The method of multiple scales is used to derive two coupled first order ordinary differential equations that describe the ...

Boundary of the Basin of Attraction for Weakly Damped Primary Resonance

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1995
The dissipatively perturbed Hamiltonian system corresponding to primary resonance is analyzed in the case in which two competing stable periodic responses exist. The method of averaging fails as the trajectory approaches the unperturbed homoclinic orbit (separatrix).

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography in the diagnosis of primary sclerosing cholangitis

Endoscopy, 2008
Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a less-invasive alternative to endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) for the diagnosis of primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). This study evaluated the diagnostic accuracy of MRCP in PSC compared with ERCP, and assessed the diagnostic accuracy of different T2w sequences.95 patients (

Primary heart angiosarcoma detected by magnetic resonance imaging

Acta Radiologica, 2006
We present a case of primary heart angiosarcoma in a 38-year-old male. The patient presented with severe dyspnoe and arrhythmia. Echocardiography showed multiple solid masses in the pericardium and pericardial effusion. Chest radiography revealed left-sided pleural effusion and suspicion of a mass projected on the right atrium.

Primary extinction in resonant?-ray scattering

Soviet Physics Journal, 1967
A general expression is derived for the primary-extinction length, which in resonant scattering is less by two orders of magnitude than for nonresonant scattering, though there are directions in the crystal for which it increases considerably.

Magnetic resonance imaging of the shoulder in the primary care setting

Medicine &amp Science in Sports &amp Exercise, 1998
MRI is an excellent noninvasive method of diagnosing difficult shoulder problems. Although usually not needed for classic primary impingement syndrome or clinically obvious rotator cuff tears, MRI may be helpful in diagnosing secondary causes of impingement or in some cases involving partial rotator cuff tears.

Magnetic resonance imaging of primary intracranial tumors: A review

International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1985
The experience in magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of primary intracranial neoplasia at University of California, San Francisco is reviewed. Seventy patients have been evaluated by MR and computerized tomography (CT). MR scans were performed using a multi-slice spin echo technique with a long pulse repetition time (TR = 2000 msec), and long echo ...

Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography in primary sclerosing cholangitis in children

Pediatric Radiology, 2002
Primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) is a chronic cholestatic syndrome of unknown aetiology. Diagnosis is based on clinical and laboratory data in conjunction with imaging of the biliary tree using endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP).: To evaluate the clinical usefulness of MR cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) in the diagnosis of PSC in
