Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Nitrate-regulated glutaredoxins control Arabidopsis thaliana primary root growth.
Nitrogen is an essential soil nutrient for plants, and lack of nitrogen commonly limits plant growth. Soil nitrogen is typically available to plants in two inorganic forms: nitrate and ammonium.

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

The differential expression of the genes encoding glutamine synthetase in developing root modules [PDF]
Glutamine synthetase (GS) is one of the key enzymes involved in the assimilation of ammonia into organic nitrogen in plants. It is important in legume root nodules where ammonia, produced by the Rhizobium-legume symbiosis, is converted to organic ...

Root canal treatment in necrotic primary molars.
Fifty-three patients (27 boys and 26 girls) with necrotic primary teeth received root canal treatments with a paste consisting of KRI-1 paste and pure calcium hydroxide powder with one drop of formocresol. All cases were followed clinically, radiographically and some histologically at 6, 12 and 17 to 24 months postoperatively. All cases were clinically

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Root-knot nematode, Meloidogyne javanica, in response to soil fertilization
Root-knot nematodes (RKNs) (Meloidogyne spp.) are well known disease problem causing major losses in vegetable crops. Although, chemical nematicides have been used as one of the primary means for controlling RKNs, reliance on these nematicides is ...

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Assessment of the physiological potential of super sweet corn seeds
The assessment of physiological potential is essential in seed quality control programs. This study compared the sensitivity of different procedures for evaluating super sweet corn seed vigor, focusing on the primary root protrusion test.
