Fast Mersenne-prime transforms for digital filtering

Proceedings of the Institution of Electrical Engineers, 1978
It is shown that Winograd's algorithm can be used to compute an integer transform over GF(q), where q is a Mersenne prime. This new algorithm requires fewer multiplications than the conventional fast Fourier transform (f.f.t). The transform over GF(q) can be implemented readily on a digital computer.

Characterization of prime ideals, filters in ABAs

Asian-European Journal of Mathematics, 2019
In this paper, we discuss several properties of ideals, filters, annihilators and maximisors in a general Almost Distributive Lattices (ADLs) and in particular, Almost Boolean Algebras (ABAs). Also, we characterize extreme ideals and filters. Further, several equivalent conditions are obtained in terms of ideals and filters for an ADL to become an ABA.

Narrowband filter system at the Subaru prime focus

SPIE Proceedings, 2000
The Subaru telescope has an excellent performance of wide field of view at the prime focus. A big area of 30 feet times 24 feet is observable at a time with the prime focus camera. Making the best use of the wide view, we are constructing narrowband (NB) filter system consisting of 20 bands. This system covers the wavelengths between 4,000 angstrom and

Extremal Prime Filters and Universality of Some Categories

Quaestiones Mathematicae, 1996
Abstract Due to the existence of constants, classical topological categories cannot be universal in the sense of containing each concrete category as a full subcategory. In the point-free case, this obstruction vanishes and the question of universality makes sense again.

Searching Genomic Databases using the Prime Factor Filter

2006 International Conference on Information and Automation, 2006
The major bottleneck in searching genomic databases is the sheer size of the databases involved. A number of different solutions to the problem of aligning query sequences to genomic databases have been proposed, including the widely used BLAST and FASTA systems. While such systems are effective against traditional applications such as query alignment,
