Improving the Field Emergence Performance of Super Sweet Corn by Sand Priming

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2009
A priming method called sand priming was developed using sand as a priming solid matrix. The effect of sand priming on improving the field emergence performance of five super sweet corn cultivars was investigated.

Evaluative priming in the pronunciation task a preregistered replication and extension [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We replicated and extended a study by Spruyt and Hermans (2008) in which picture primes engendered an evaluative-priming effect on the pronunciation of target words.

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

The effects of different treatments of seed priming and foliar application of nano particle and zinc sulphate on agronomic traits in safflower [PDF]

open access: yesعلوم و فناوری بذر ایران, 2015
In order to study effects of seed priming and foliar application of nano particle and zinc sulfate on yield and yield components of safflower, an experiment was carried out  based on RCBD  with four replications in Islamic Azad University, Arak branch ...

Bidirectional syntactic priming across cognitive domains: from arithmetic to language and back [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Scheepers et al. (2011) showed that the structure of a correctly solved mathematical equation affects how people subsequently complete sentences containing high vs. low relative-clause attachment ambiguities.

Prime Percolation

open access: yesExperimental Mathematics, 1998
This paper examines the question of whether there is an unbounded walk of bounded step size along Gaussian primes. Percolation theory predicts that for a low enough density of random Gaussian integers no walk exists, which suggests that no such walk exists along prime numbers, since they have arbitrarily small density over large enough regions.

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...

Numerical study of the self‐priming process of a prototype pump based on coupled calculations of circulatory system

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
To understand the self‐priming characteristics of a self‐priming pump, a closed‐loop piping system that includes the self‐priming pump, valve, tank, and piping system is established. The acceleration–constant speed operation processes of the impeller are

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Priming of Pop-Out Does not Affect the Shooting Line Illusion [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
We combined a shooting-line illusion with a visual search pop-out task in an effort to determine whether priming of pop-out was due to acceleratcd processing of visual information in the primed dimension.
