Defect Effect of Bi-infinite Words in the Two-element Case [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2001
Let X be a two-element set of words over a finite alphabet. If a bi-infinite word possesses two X-factorizations which are not shiftequivalent, then the primitive roots of the words in X are conjugates.

Recapitulating Endochondral Ossification for Bone Repair: From Development to Engineering Strategy

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This review summarizes the developmental basis of endochondral ossification (ECO) and its applications in bone tissue engineering (BTE). It first outlines the key biological processes and signaling pathways underlying ECO, then discusses biomaterial‐based engineering strategies derived from these principles, and finally highlights future directions for

On the maximum orders of elements of finite almost simple groups and primitive permutation groups [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We determine upper bounds for the maximum order of an element of a finite almost simple group with socle T in terms of the minimum index m(T) of a maximal subgroup of T: for T not an alternating group we prove that, with finitely many exceptions, the ...

Computing primitive elements of extension fields

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Computation, 1989
So-called ``trial methods'' for finding primitive elements and the corresponding minimal polynomials of finitely generated algebraic extensions of \({\mathbb{Q}}\) have been presented by \textit{B. M. Trager} [Symbolic and algebraic computation, Proc. ACM Symp. 1976, Yorktown Heights/N.Y., 219-226 (1976; Zbl 0498.12005)] and \textit{R.

Mixed‐Metal Promotion in a Manganese‐Molybdenum Oxynitride as Catalyst to Integrate C─C and C─N Coupling Reactions for the Direct Synthesis of Acetonitrile from Syngas and Ammonia

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Transition metal oxy/carbo‐nitrides show great promise as catalysts for sustainable processes. A Mn‐Mo mixed‐metal oxynitride attains remarkable performance for the direct synthesis of acetonitrile, an important commodity chemical, via sequential C─N and C─C coupling from syngas (C1) and ammonia (N1) feedstocks.

Incorporation of Myth in Quentin Tarantino’s Movie Django Unchained [PDF]

open access: yesIn Medias Res, 2017
What this exposure should shed light on the possibility of being used as a myth, is Tarantino’s incorporation of the German-Nordic myth called ‘’The ring of the Nibelung’’.

Primitive elements for p-divisible groups

open access: yesResearch in Number Theory, 2017
Let \(\mathcal G\) be a finite flat group scheme. Using Raynaud's theory of Haar measures of [\textit{M. Raynaud}, Bull. Soc. Math. Fr. 102, 241--280 (1974; Zbl 0325.14020)], the authors define a closed subscheme \(\mathcal G^\times\hookrightarrow\mathcal G\) by decreeing its ideal to be the line bundle of invariant measures on the Cartier dual of ...

Spin and Charge Control of Topological End States in Chiral Graphene Nanoribbons on a 2D Ferromagnet

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Chiral graphene nanoribbons on a ferromagnetic gadolinium‐gold surface alloy display tunable spin and charge states at their termini. Atomic work function variations and exchange fields enabe transitions between singlet, doublet, and triplet configurations.

The Role of Calcium and Strontium as the Most Dominant Elements during Combinations of Different Alkaline Earth Metals in the Synthesis of Crystalline Silica-Carbonate Biomorphs

open access: yesCrystals, 2019
The origin of life from the chemical point of view is an intriguing and fascinating topic, and is of continuous interest. Currently, the chemical elements that are part of the different cellular types from microorganisms to higher organisms have been ...

Evidence for Itinerant Ferromagnetic Flat Bands Producing Large Transverse Responses

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Itinerant ferromagnetic flat bands are demonstrated in GdCo5 with a high Curie temperature of 940K, a stacked honeycomb–kagome lattice, through angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy and magneto‐thermoelectric measurements. These topological flat bands generate large Berry curvaturte, producing gigantic anomalous Nernst effect with record‐high ...
